Complaint ID, we are submitting for your review, the following booking
details. Ms*** booked August
5, using a
special rate that is only available when booked immediately
after making flight reservations. This rate is deeply discounted due to
restrictive terms and conditions. The booking number is *** and is
for Conrad Miami by Hilton for nights, cheSeptember 17, in a
Deluxe City View category at the rate of $total including taxes.
The following terms and conditions were agreed to at the time of booking as
advised by the booking website.Land Revisions A revision is defined as changes
to the same hotel reservationA revision fee of $USD per
change will be charged after payment is made, plus any applicable change
in priceCertain non-refundable or “advance
purchase” room categories, which are identified in the booking process, do
not allow any revisions once payment has been madeRevisions are not permitted within
seven days of departure or for travel dates departing December 17th - January
3rd.Land Cancellations A cancellation is defined as a
complete cancellation of the reservation, changes to origin or destination
cities, or changing from the initially booked hotel to a different hotelIf cancellations are made five
days or more prior to departure, there is a $USD fee per person except
for non-refundable/advance purchase room categories, which are identified
during the booking process and remain non-refundableIf cancellations are made four
days or less prior to departure, during holiday travel December 17-January
3, or not canceled and no-showed, there is a fee of 100% of the total land
priceAll refund requests and
documentation must be submitted within days of travel date.Ms*** called us
September 7, to inquire into cancellation of the booking. Our agent
quoted the policy above, $per person cancellation fee and a refund of the
remaining balance. Ms*** then inquired as to revising the reservation
to only night and our agent quoted a $change fee but at that time no prices
were quoted for the night stay as Ms*** ended the call without asking for
prices.Ms*** called us
back a little later the same day advising that she spoke with the hotel and
they had informed her that they would not charge a penalty to amend the
reservation. Our agent explained that we can make the revision with a $
change fee per our terms and conditions. Our agent then checked available
rates and advised that the Deluxe City View category was no longer available,
that to make the change to only night (September 17, 2015) that the only
available category was Deluxe Bay View which is an upgraded category at a
higher price. After calculating the new price and $change fee our
agent quoted a refund would be due in the amount of $107.06. Ms*** then
asked why the refund would not be higher and our agent explained that the hotel
price had increased due to the higher category. Ms*** then advised the
agent not to make any changes, to keep the original three nights, then advised
that she found our policies to be to strict and unacceptable. After
asking how to submit a complaint the call was ended.Our deeply discounted
rate averaged $per night (tax included) for Deluxe City View. The
same room type is currently pricing an average of $(tax included) on the
hotel website.Please advise if further details are
needed
