proceedings, the bankruptmanufacturer was sold to another window manufacturer. Unbeknowns to us(and every other Gorell dealer in the country, I presume) the newcompany was able to purchase the bankrupt company and NOT have toassume or honor any of the existing warranties. I was told that thiswas the decision of the bankruptcy judge. I am as upset as mycustomers are for I have purchased these windows for my personal homeand rental properties, and yes, I have failed ones as well.As our customer stated, the new company will not honor the existingwarranties, however, they will make replacements for a charge. Theyhave also just informed us that they have closed our account due tolack of orders to them. They are requesting that customers contactthem directly at [redacted].In response to failed attempts to reach us, it may have been duringour hiatus winter season, at which time we will closed down due tolack of work. We do answer and explain to any of our customers whenthey call. For I have explained the situation many times already.As customer noted, we did, in good faith, replace her defectivewindows when the Gorell company and warranties were in place. We arenot in a financial place to take the burden of the GQrell windowfailures and pay for these replacements ourselves. This is themanufacturers warranty.I truly feel horrible about the Gorell company going bankrupt and thenew company purchasing it and not honoring the warranties and nowclosing out our account.I have been in the home improvement business for 30 plus years andhave had several companys not pay me for my services because they wentbankrupt, and now THIS! Review: When purchasing these windows from American Airtite I was told they had a lifetime guarantee. It was one of the reasons I did purchase these windows. I started having problems with them about two years into having them installed. There were streak marks between the pains of glass. I contacted American Airtite, and after some time, they did come an replace the defective sections. Their explanation was that there were some problems in the manufacturing process that, after a time, caused the streaks to show up. About one year later, I contacted them again, since a few more windows started having the same issue. I was then told that they had changed manufactures, and since mine were not made by the new company, they would no longer honor previous purchases with any warranty. I was told I could buy new sections. I asked for an estimate. It took several calls to American Airtite before they would even respond back to me. The rough estimate was almost as costly as an entire new window! In my opinion, since it is still the same owner(s), they should honor any warranty on previously sold windows.Desired Settlement: I wish to have all defective windows (or parts) replaced, just like I was told would happen when purchasing these windows.
