The information given to us by [redacted] does not match what you have listed above.He gave us a sheet by American Arborists: PO Box 34475 Reno, NV 89533The phone number [redacted] gave us is 775-352-4241 Fax: 775-313-9845At 11 am, [redacted] from American Arborists walked around our property without ringing our door bell or identifying himself. Then my husband and I approached him and asked him what he was doing. He said that [redacted] had given him our address to give him an estimate because he wanted to buy our property and wanted to know how much it would cost to trim our trees. This [redacted] only told us him name after we followed him back to his truck. We do not know of nor have ever heard from any [redacted] regarding our property. Our property has been maintained for years by [redacted], our neighbors.We have a do not trespass sign on our property and a For Sale by Owner sign at the front gate.He drove through our neighbors property to get to ours through the mud and tracked mud through our driveway. We now have to power wash our driveway for our house showing in 3 hours.We have filed a police report and now have filed a Revdex.com report. Our neighborhood is an old established, well kept one with few burglaries, we would like to keep it that way.The email he gave us for [redacted] is [redacted]. [redacted] has not responded to our email to him to find out what he is doing. Is it legal for someone who does not own this house, request an estimate for work? Our gut feeling is that this [redacted] from American Arborists was scamming our home and or lying about [redacted]. We are happy to provide any information regarding this incident. Without proper identification this Josh was trespassing and then we believe once caught, he lied about [redacted]. Sorry if this delay has caused you any inconvenience.[redacted]Mar 30 (9 days ago)to me Okay no problem get back to me with the estimate so that we can make the payment ASAP____________________________________________________________________________...⇄ concludes my communications with Mr. [redacted] and I can only assume he was attempting to scam our company, dropping communications once the homeowner involved, emailed him at the address I provided.On 3/31/16, I was scheduled to visit the home of [redacted], located at [redacted]After entering this address into the GPS system, I was directed to this location via a route that eventually turned into a dirt road. After driving a short distance on the dirt road, it returned to pavement directly out front of the home I was scheduled to visit. From the direction I entered the drive, I could see the address and a for sale sign, which led me to believe that I had found the correct location. The gate to the property was open, and from where I entered I could not see the cars parked out front of the garage on the opposite side of the property, which was not a concern because I was under the impression I was to provide an estimate for a customer who was not present for the appointment. At that time, I started my way through the front yard and around the side jotting down notes needed to prepare the estimate I was contacted for. Upon reaching the back yard, I saw a gentleman using a hand held blower to clear the patio. I had heard this when exiting my truck, but thought the sound was coming from the property behind this residence. I proceeded to introduced myself, and asked the gentleman if he was [redacted]. He informed me he was not, and that he was the owner of the property. I began to explain to him what I was doing; We both assumed it was someone interested in buying the home, and that there was simply a communication error and that the prospective buyer had mislead American Arborists regarding the current situation of the property for sale. He was informing me I could finish my proposal when his wife exited the house, obviously upset about the situation and my presence on the property. I tried to explain to her the events that led up to this point, but she said something along these lines "I am not ignorant and am not going to fall for your story". The husband tried to explain to her the information I had relayed to him, but she stated that "she did not care, and wanted me of the property". I then apologized for the inconvenience and started walking toward my truck. She followed me out, and mentioned that she was upset about the tracks my truck had left in the drive, and that she had complained to the city on several occasions about the dirt road entering the property from that side. I tried to explain the situation in further detail hoping that we could come to a peaceful conclusion, but she reiterated that she wanted me off the property. While entering my truck she informed me that if I provided her with [redacted]'s phone number she would not turn me into the Revdex.com. I let her know I did not have his number and that we had been communicating via email only, I then provided her with his email address. I apologized again, and left the property. I would like to have discussed this with her further, and could have had one of our crews visit her home to address her concerns with the drive way, but it was clear that she assumed that I was up to something and wanted me off the property.When she called our company shortly after that, she did not leave a contact number and the number that was recorded would not accept a return call. I relayed this information to the owners of American Arborists ltd, whom also tried to return the call and were unable to get through. I would like to once more, apologize for any inconvenience my visit to this property may have caused, but I can assure you that there was no harm or mischief intended. We are commonly contacted under similar circumstances and unfortunately I was not suspicious of the prospective customer or the circumstances he conveyed in our email communications. American Arborists has never experienced this level of deceit in the nearly ten years that we have been doing business, during which we have earned a reputation as a quality service provider boasting A rating from the Revdex.com and the super service award from [redacted] for 4 consecutive years. Unfortunately, [redacted] whomever he may be led American Arborists ltd into a situation that regretfully agitated the current home owner, and for that we are sorry. We will be more cautious in the future and request more information including phone number verification for all customers requesting estimates.
