I am rejecting this response because: I was not offered a diagnosticI simply told them what I was told the problem wasI asked that they change a gasket and they suggested if they do that it
would be best to replace the water pumpI am not a mechanicI was told by the people that ultimately fixed my car that they should have done a pressure test to determine where the leak was coming from The only test they said they were going to run was a test to see if the block was warped because it had overheatedI never declined a diagnostic because none was offered
The customer declined diagnostic, he requested to change parts. It clearly says in the work order
Review: I went to the shop on a recommendation. My car was leaking water and I told them I thought it was a gasket attached to the water pump. They told me if they replace the gasket they should also replace the water pump so I said ok. This was before they checked anything. They changed the water pump and the leak was worse. They then said I needed another part that would cost $400 before labor. I took my car somewhere else and the part they said I needed was fine, it was just a gasket and I didn't need the water pump they sold me. They should have done a pressure test to find the leak before they did anything.Desired Settlement: I feel I should get a refund because the diagnosis they gave me was wrong and they sold me a water pump I didn't need.
