Review: I took my vehicle to American Automotive on 10/31/13 for an oil change. Drove the vehicle approx. 5 miles home and then 5 miles back to work on 11/1. When I left work to go home in the evening. My engine starting knocking and the oil pressure light dropped to the red line on the gauge and my vehicle had no power. I called American Automotive that Iwas bringing the car back because I beleived that they did not put oil back in the car with the oil change. I should have checked the oil before taking the vehicle back but I did not. Today, 11/4/13 they said my vehicle had oil in it, the engine was not getting any pressure (and they didn't know why)and that my engine was blown and they were not responsible for the blown engine. Prior to the oil change, I never had engine knocking or any oil pressure issues. I had my vehicle at [redacted] in Fredericksburg, VA in August for any recommendations for the 100K mile check. I was told that my vehcile was in great shape. I believe that American Automotive put oil in my car after I returned it on 11/1/13 so it would appear that it was not their fault becuase I had never had any issues with the engine or oil pressure prior to the oil change on 10/31/13Desired Settlement: I expect American Automotive to responsible for all costs of a new engine

I spoke to [redacted] from the company and he stated that the company did oil gage work at no charge to the consumer. The company stated that they had a conversation with the husband about putting a new engine in the vehicle and his wife was upset about the new engine. [redacted] stated that he told the consumer to get a second opinion and the consumer did and also got a new engine put in the vehicle by a different mechanic.
