American Background Information Services Inc

This company has cost me a job opportunity and housing I have a very common, maiden, last name (Jones) and twice this company has provided a background check that included someone else's criminal record The person has the same first and last name but they have a different middle initial and are a different gender His crimes were committed in a city and county where I have never lived and they were during the time I lived clear across the country! I have requested an investigation and they complied and sent me an "updated" report but now it's happening againWho holds this company accountable for mistakes like this? Obviously, it was an easy "investigation" as all they needed to do was have someone proofread the thing I didn't receive an apology or anything and now it's on ME to try and fix this This should be unlawful I completely understand the need for background checks and if I were a business owner, I would definitely run them, but there has to be a way to ensure the correct information on the correct person is being reported
