I needed a car key for my vehicle and within hour of calling American Best Locksmith they came and created me a key for my vehicle

It was so cold the other morning so I went to warm my car up before taking my son to schoolWell I somehow managed to lock the doors and my car was runningI had to get my son to school and get gas in my carI called this company at in the morning and they were very professionalThey told me the tech would be to me in about minutesI was hoping I wouldn't run out of gas by thenThe technician Al called me a few minutes later and told me he would be there soonHe came in about minutes and opened the car quicklyThe price was very reasonable for the amount of time and professionalism

we would like to first apologize to this customer for the misunderstanding of
our estimate services, we are able to offer a free estimate over the phone
to
our customers for most of the services we performAfter this is done if the
customer is satisfied with the prices we are providing we set up an appointment
to come out and perform the service requestedIn some cases more than one
visit is needed to complete the service requested by the customer, like in this
case where we needed to take measurements before ordering the doors needed for
this jobWhat our technician was explaining that the price of the service call
for the first visit would be taken off the total for the entire jobWe never
want to make our customers feel that we are hiding prices and this service call
should have been explained not only by the technician himself but also our dispatching
teamWe are now in the process of retraining our staff to be able to explain
our practices more clearly to our customers
We would like to refund this customer the
full amount that they paid and again apologize for the misunderstanding

I would gladly recommend American Best Locksmith to any other customer who is trying to locate a professional company that stands behind their work 100%. I used them 1st when replacing the locks on my rental property in the Philadelphia area and not only did they provide me with a fast and reasonable quote but they had the work completed ahead of schedule and right on budget. I used them the 2nd time when I lost my car keys while attending a friends wedding in [redacted] they came right out to the location of the vehicle and made the new key right there in less than a hour and had me on my way. The 3rd time I called them was because one of the locks they had installed on our first encounter had stopped locking, they sent the same locksmith out to the house and he repaired the lock free of charge. A professional, reasonably priced, local locksmith who I now have stored in my phone in case of any other situations!

Review: I made an appointment for 6:30PM yesterday, your representative did not show until 7:25, He did not finish until 9PM, I needed to be somewhere by 8PM and you cost me time and money because of your delay. On top of this, I specifically asked you at the time of appointment and again yesterday if they will have Baldwin keys which the response was yes. No he did not have them and I am very upset about that! I paid a ridiculous amount of money to rekey locks, $300 + a service fee charge of $25- and I did not get what I wanted. So I am not happy right now, and will allow you the opportunity to correct the issue before any further action on my part. I selected you because of your Revdex.com rating, and right now am severely disappointed.Desired Settlement: The Company should offer me a partial refund, but at this point I simply want their service on record. Review: I called on 4-23-14 to have somene come out to give me an estimate on new garage doors and possible new operating system. I asked if estimates were free as stated in the ad and was told "yes."The operator said she'd connect me to a service person in my area who'd contact me shortly. When he,[redacted], called he told me two prices for doors and one for system replacement. He tried to push for a same day appointment, but because I had other things to do said he'd come today, 4-24-14 at 9a.m. After he measured my doors and anwered my questions about warranties, he told me there was a service charge of $25 which would be deducted from the total job cost. I told him it was supposed to be a free estimate and he responded about gas required to go from one place to another and that he had given me a free estimate over the phone. I told him the measuring of my doors was a given regardless of whom I chose to deal with and was not something such as a service call. He also wanted cash as opposed to a check. I was upset. When I returned I told him I only had a $20, which he took. He offered to fix my door before he left, but I told him I didn't care to do any kind of business with him.I had selected the company because of the 24/7 free estimates in the ad and the superguarantee shield around it as well.Desired Settlement: I think the business has the reponsibility of providing free estimates as stated in their ad or removing it if they consider coming out to take customary measurements before a consumer decides which company to go with as a "service" call.

Review: I locked myself out of an apartment last Sunday night (May 19), and so called American Best LocksmithThey told me that a locksmith would come to my door within 15-minutes, and that for the type of lock I described, the price would be "about $50." After waiting minutes, I called the number of the locksmith they said they were dispatching in order to find out his statusHe told me that he would be at the apartment in minutesRelying on that, I left the restaurant my girlfriend and I had gone to when we were locked out to meet the locksmithAfter minutes, he finally showed up - a full hour after the call center told me I could expect someone (and minutes after the "one hour guarantee" they promise on their website
After the locksmith unlocked the door, he claimed that it was a particularly complicated lock, and that the charge would be $170! The lock was the simplest, most basic, most common type of lock (I have photos to show this)I refused to pay $170, and he refused to leave the area in front of my apartment until I gave him $in cash
American locksmith showed up an hour later than promised, needlessly interrupting dinner with my girlfriendThey then charged more than times as much as they had claimed! Unbelievable dishonestyI called American Best's office to request a refund and I was told that I would be called back, but I never wasI also voiced my complaint on American Best's Facebook page, but have not received a response.Desired Settlement: Full refund of the $I paid

I have searched everywhere in my apartment for the receipt from ABLUnfortunately, it seems that I did not keep the receiptI know that was a big mistake on my part
For what it is worth, I posted my complaint (including the name and badge # of the "lock technician") on the wall of American Best Locksmith's facebook pageThis prompted a lot of responses from other people who had also felt cheatedAfter a few days, ABL actually took down their entire facebook page!

state area for over ten years now and strive each and every day to provide our
customers with the high level of quality customer service that we have been
known for hours a day days a weekHaving skilled locksmith technicians
available 24/is not always possible so American Best Locksmith uses subcontractors to fill in the open slots in
our coverage, these subcontractors are only that a sub department of American
Best Locksmith and even though we fully cover all of their work under our
month product warranty these subcontractors work on a hour schedule which
cost more than our business hour services, when there is a question
about the pricing if our customer is not satisfied with the cost of the labor
they will explain this to the technician and try to negotiate a better price before any work is completed, with each
transaction American Best Locksmith makes there is a verbal agreement along
with the written receipt of the cost for all work including labor and parts
that is signed on site by the customer before any work takes placeWith over
ten thousand satisfied customers each year and thousands of repeat customers,
on the rare occasion one of our customers is unhappy with the service that they
have received we make it our top priority to resolve the issue in the most
professional and efficient manner possibleAmerican Best Locksmith tries very

our competitors trying to slander our companies good nameIt is American Best
Locksmith’s feeling that this customer does not have good intentions and might
possibly be one of our direct competitorsAmerican Best Locksmith has been
registered with the Revdex.com for years now and in those six years we have only
received complaints which were all handled right awayThis complaint is not
like the rest, if our customer was dissatisfied with the service received he
should have called into our office right away so we could make the situation

customer could not provide a receipt for the job after much research we did
find a job that we did do which was listed under a different name and phone
number from what the customer provided in this complaint this only further assures
American Best Locksmith that this customer is only trying to slander our companies
reputationFurthermore this customer states that the lock was a simple basic
lock, we hear this all of the time what people assume is a standard lock can
sometimes turn out to be a very heavy duty high security lockAnd since this
job was performed at an apartment in the city the lock in question was not a
simple lock since all apartment complexes are required to use a high quality
lock these locks tends to be higher security locks which requires more work to
unlock which will result in a higher priceThe price that this customer wound
up paying which was $after refusing to pay the complete price for the job
was much lower than it should have been at the time services were rendered
(12am) especially since our subcontractor took the time to pick the lock so it
was able to be used again unlike most other companies who would just drill the
lock causing the customer to have to purchase a new lock alsoAfter the
customer negotiated the price with the subcontractor he agreed to help him out
for a lower price of $and he still was unsatisfiedUpon reviewing this
complaint it is our decision that we will not refund this customer since we do
not feel that the complaint is validBut American Best Locksmith would like to

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: The service technician quoted a price of $125 for the replacement of my home door lock. I agreed and he began the work. Upon completion and at the point of collection he said the bill is $314. He, in no way, lead me to believe, that it would be more than double the $125. Had he done so, I would not have agreed to have the work done because I did not have the money.

I also filed a complaint under Philadelphia Locksmith (http://www.phila-locksmith.com/Home_Page.html), where I found this service. It was only after I contacted my bank did I find that the company is called American Best Locksmith.Desired Settlement: I want AT LEAST $100 returned to me and I was mislead in the price, and now I find the company name.

in regards to the complaint ID [redacted] that I received on

02/26/13. Upon receiving this complaint I researched the transaction and became

aware that the service described in the complaint was not the full service

performed. The original service call that we received was for a home lock out,

when our technician arrived at the location he became aware that the key was

broken off inside the door. At which point he explained that he would need to

not only unlock the door but also change the lock. As always our technicians give a written

receipt that the customer signs agreeing to the price before any work is

started to avoid situations like this. If needed we would be more than happy to

send a copy of the receipt for all parties involved records. It is my feeling

that the refund requested is not reasonable due to the labor and time asserted

to complete this job, but I would however like to offer a 10% refund of the

total cost out of good faith. Please respond with any questions, concerns or

NOT make it clear to me that the cost would be over $300.00. I would not have agreed to have him do the

job because I did not have that money to spare. Also, the time involved was less than 30 minutes becase he was rushing to get to another job.

Review: let me start by saying that the primary nature of my complaint cover several issues had a hard time choosing just one.I have services,customer service and repair issues.ok,ilost the keys to my 1999 dodge intrepid.I called American Best Locksmith for assistants.They told me it cost me between $140-$160 to replace my keys including service charge.They came out on Nov. 1, 2013 about 4 or 5 p.m..The tech. name was [redacted].He ran the vin number made a key,tried key it didnt start my car.he said that for them to fix the problem they had to change the ignition,reprogram the sentry key immobilizer module and then program the keys to match.He"[redacted]" did that,but the code would'nt take. he said,he try the code to many times so the system would be locked for 24 hours.That he "[redacted]" would be back out the next day to reprogram the system.He came back on 11/02/13 at 5:30p.m. did whatever he did to the car and informed me that he needed another type of machine to fix the problem,which he himself didnt have.He said that he had to get the machine from his boss and the he would be back in an hour.he"[redacted]"never returned.Another tech. came out about 8p.m. the same evening. Dont recall his name.He looked at the car for 5 to 10 mins. called someone on his phone talked for a few mins then told me that he didnt know the other tech"[redacted]"did so I would have to wait until the next day for him to come out and fix the problem.The next day 11/03/13 no one showed up.I called the office several times to no satisfaction.They kept telling me someone would be out. No one ever came.After several calls they final said someone would be out on 11/04/13.They came out an told me that needed to buy a new s.k.i.m. because they couldnt get the code,I brought the part from the dealer at $160.I called them back they kept telling someone would be out they gave me appt. times that they would be here they called me to confirm the times that they set,yet no one showed up.This went on for days. Then on 11/08/13 a [redacted] came out,he did whatever he do,still my car wouldnt start.He told me that computer in my car had to reset in order for everthing to work. I did what he said,I called him and told him it was still doing the same thing an not starting.He said he had to check somethings he was on another job he would call me back in an hour.Never got the call back.I called him several times he did not answer.I called him ten minutes later from my brothers phone and he answered.He said I surprized him he told me he didnt really know what the problem was that he had to consult with someone so he could fugire out the problem again he said he would call me back.Agian no call back.I have been calling the company number all day everyday since 11/08/13 no answer.Today 11/12/13 I called and someone answered I told them who I was,she said she know my storiy and she will get back to me.She called me back and told me it's not their problem they did they job they made the key i'm not getting any money back no one else is coming out so I need to take my car to the dealer an get it fixed then hung up on me.I tried to call back several times an she would pick up then hang up before I could say anthing.My car did not have any mechanical problems at all.All I did was lose my keys.My car ran great.now the alarm dont work cant start the car or anythingDesired Settlement: I wqnt them to come out and put my car back the way they found it take their product an give me back my money.I will pay their service fee with no problem just want my car the way they found it

In response to the complaint [redacted] we would first like to

explain the full story of the job this customer is speaking about. He did call

our office for us to make him a key for his vehicle, we sent out our technician

who made the key for the car based upon the vin number, after making the key

and trying to program it to the vehicle it was discovered that the ignition had

been changed previously which would require us to install a new ignition and

produce a key that fits it. We changed the ignition and made a new key and

again went to program it to the vehicle with no luck. After a certain amount of

attempts to program a new key to the car the system will lock itself as a

security measure. When this happened our technician explained it to the

customer and sent another specialist out later that same evening to see if

there was maybe something else we could try to do to help the customer. After evaluating

the situation we came to the conclusion that the S.K.I.M module needed to be

replaced, this is not a service we usually perform which is why we instructed

the customer to purchase a new one and have it installed and programmed to his vehicle.

He called us back and said he got the S.K.I.M module and we sent another technician

out to take care of the issue. Upon arrival it came to our attention he did not

have it installed he only purchased the part we usually do not perform this type

of service but we were trying to help out our customer, so our technician

installed it and cut a new key and programmed it to the vehicle. The new key we

made is programmed to the car but will not turn it on since the skim was never

programmed to the car computer because it is calling for a dealer tool. We

explained to the customer that this is not a service we are able to perform and

he would need to take it to the dealer since they are the only ones able to

provide such service. Once the customer takes his vehicle to the dealer and

they fix the problem we will be more than happy to come back out free of charge

to make sure the key is programmed to the vehicle. We are unable to refund the

money back since we performed the service we were hired to do, and we cannot put

the vehicle back to the way it was before we came out. We replaced the whole ignition

and installed a new S.K.I.M we do not have the old parts to put back in. The

customer paid for a new ignition and key, we understand that it does not work

to his vehicle but there is nothing we are able to do for him only dealers can

fix this problem once he gets the dealer to fix it the key we made will work

perfectly fine.
