My fiancee called the office to discuss and was immediately disrespected by the woman that answered the phone. I attempted to call with her conferenced in and requested the manager. He was immediately rude and hostile, and even cursed and called my fiancee a [redacted] because she corrected him when he claimed that the vase fell over on its own. Mind you he was not even onsite when items were broken. Then when I told him that he was out of order since no one was yelling or cursing at him, he hung up on us. Apparently the women who answered the phone had also threatened my fiancee by saying they have our address and card information. We will be following up with the appropriate authorities, as threats and intimidation were used. There is also concern about their payment policy. Definitely not the last that this horrible company will be hearing from me. I hope they actually gave the cash-required payment to the movers who worked so hard to complete the job.

I found them in the telephone book. They told me on the phone that it would cost $260 for the first hour and $75/hr after. They arrived with a contract that said that cash is the accepted form of payment and that they would charge 10% if a charge card was used. The total was over $800Who keeps $800 in cash on them? Some banks have restrictions on how much cash you can remove a day. They never said this was their policy when they were booked for the job. I paid them in cash. They did this intentionally hoping to charge 10 %.They also don't accept checks and this was not told to me either. It was on the contract they showed me the day of the move. The payment method should have been told and the contract should have been faxed after setting a date on the phone.

Review: I noticed that I was missing a black with gray pull out file cabinet with very important files included. I called American Budget Movers on Monday night asking is they had seen or if they were holding this cabinet. The lady that answered the phone said that she would ask the driver the following day and call me back. Today, 2//4/14, when I called back (since I had not received a phone call from them as they promised) I asked if [redacted] (the driver) had seen or returned a black file cabinet. The man that answered the phone said that nothing had been turned in and that they clean their trucks out everyday. He told me to look at the contract that says "we should have taken a walk through the truck at the end of the job." This is NOT written anywhere in my contract and this option was not offered to me at the end of the day. He proceed to say that he could email a copy of the contract. I said ok and then he hangs up the phone without getting any contact information or an email address from me to even send me an email. I called back to say that I wanted to receive a copy of that version of the contract, which is not on my signed contract. I asked about what they do with items that are broken during the moves. Since 7 of my glasses were broken as well. They said that there was nothing that they could do because they did not pack the items. They do not pack any items according to the contract that I have. I begin to ask about the process to resolve this about the missing black cabinet matter and the man begin to yell at me. When I told him that he needed to lower his voice and speak to me in a respectable manner because this was not good customer service, he threated to hang up the phone on me again because there was nothing that he could do.Desired Settlement: I want them to look for my black file cabinet, if they got rid of it go and retrieve it, if they can not then repay me the amount it costs to replace it and all of the contents. Also, the company needs to have mandatory customer service training.
