Review: I entered into a contract with this company to do repair work covered by insurance, as well as extra uncovered work. After working a few days, Mr. [redacted] disappeared with no response to either phone messages or email messages. He then reappeared a week later, worked for two days, and left on Friday, June 19th saying he would return Monday, June 22nd to complete the work. He was paid in full for one portion of the job left undone. On July 2nd I emailed him saying I expected/wanted him to return on Tuesday, 7/7, to complete the work. He emailed me on 7/6, saying he would return the next day between 10 and 11 am. On July 7th, just after 11 pm he emailed he was on his way to my house, stopping at vendors to buy rollers for the pocket door. I was under the impression from him that he had ordered these rollers online weeks before. Since that email I have not seen or heard from him.I emailed him on July 9th stating it appears he has abandoned the job completely and that if he wanted to resolve this matter short of my assertion of my legal rights, he has only to contact me. As of today, July 14th, I have still not heard from him. I can provide copies of all of these emails.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the money paid to him to complete the repair and re-installation of the pocket door. This has been paid to me by the insurance company, so I now have to hire someone else to complete it and I am certain the insurance company will expect me to absorb the double payment. I paid him in full in good faith that last day, expecting him to complete the door that day.
