We thought we completed service issues and not aware of additional items Please ask [redacted] to call me with any additional items she might have and I would be more than happy to complete them Stewart F

Mr. [redacted] , RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and continue to be wary of any offer provided until I can see the finished product. I have been put off for months by the company with numerous excuses and have forced them to respond by sending them an email on May 12, 2016 demanding a final date by which they would get this done. In that email, I told them that they have failed to respond to several requests by the BBB for information (as per your previous email to me) and that this complaint would remain open until they completed the repairs. I can only assume that this is why you finally received thier response, and it seems that miraculously the material is now in transit. Very suspicious if you ask me. Thank you for providing the leverage to get them to act. I will await their call to schedule the work and wil update you when the work is completed to my satisfaction. There are still several things that can go wrong with this, and I cannot close this complaint just yet. The material may not match the initially installed facing (which they have not agreed to correct) or the doors that did not need replacement, and if that is the case I will have no choice but to demand a complete do-over. I truly hope it does not come to that; I simply want the quality product that I assumed I was getting when I first contracted them.Best regards, [redacted] ###-###-####

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], I concur that there is an appointment scheduled for 2/24/2016 at 6:00pm.  The issue described has not been resolved.  I have not received the correct hardware for the cabinets.   I have explained that the maximum length of the drawer handle is 4".  I do not understand why American Cabinet Refacers is unable to order the correct hardware.
I am requesting that this matter not be closed until American Cabinet Refacers provides and installs the correct hardware.  I have made myself available in the evenings and communicated this to American Cabinet Refacers.  I am not available Mon - Fri between 0700 - 1800 due to my work requirements.  The first appointment scheduled in 2 months is for 2/24/2016 at 6:00pm.  Any other attempts to stop by without an appointment would be fruitless.
Please confirm my request to not be closed this complaint until American Cabinet Refacers provides and installs the correct hardware.

Review: In the beginning of February of 2013, I, [redacted], did an inquiry for a company who does cabinet refacing through HomeAdvisor for my kitchen. I was referred to American Cabinet Refacers. I had a sales rep come to give me an estimate by the name of [redacted] on 2/18/2013. We discussed various options for a couple of hours and then he gave me an estimate as to how much it would cost to do the job. I said OK...that seems reasonable but I said I wanted to get my wife's opinion first before we proceeded to see if this was something she wanted to do. He began to write up a contract to keep the price locked in that he quoted me. I asked him was this necessary if I still wanted to see what my wife thought first? He said yes and asked me to sign and put down a deposit of $500.00 dollars which I thought was strange. Never the less, I gave my credit card to him. He stated and promised that my card wouldn't be charged for a week until we sat with my wife and met again because I didn’t want the interest to accumulate so early on my credit card. He said that was fine and that he wouldn’t charge the card for a week per my request. Still.. all in all… I was a little hesitant with giving him my credit card because I still wasn't sure what or if they had a product that I and my wife would come to agree upon. He reassured me that “it’s not like we are going to take your money and run”. Well a couple of days later I saw that my card was charged and I immediately called to cancel and to speak with [redacted] on 2/20/2013 because I was so [redacted] he had charged my card. When I called.. a representative stated that he would relay the message and have the sales rep [redacted] call me back. I honestly wanted to get my cabinets refaced with you guys but after that, I lost trust from the get go. I have been trying to get in touch with [redacted] ever sense to cancel and get my money back. Never received a call back till this day from either the manager or the sales rep [redacted]! Every time I call…they give me the run around and tell me that they will call me back!! They never do!!! I feel like this was some big SCAM and I am out $500.00 dollars.Desired Settlement: $500.00

Response:

To: [redacted] bought a kitchen from us on 2/18/2013. He decided he wanted to cancel way after the 3-day cancellation period. [redacted] not only should not receive his $500 back, but according to our contract owes us 40% of the sales price since we have incurred many expenses including sales, commissions, and making him a custom-made door. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us at [redacted]. Respectfully yours, [redacted], ownerAmerican Cabinet Refacers

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

For one thing....like I said before...I canceled on the 2/20/2013 and spoke to who I think was the president of the company and told him I would like to cancel and gave him the reasons why. He said that he would have the sales representative call me back. I never got a phone call back or anything till this day. I have tried numerous times and the prseident of the company kept answering the phone and telling me that he would have [redacted], my sales representative, to call me back to do that. I never got a call back after several attemps. After the 3rd day I continued to call 20 plus times and kept getting the same line from the president, "I will have the sales person call you back". I still till this day have not got a phone call back. Just bad business! So to say I didn't cancel till way after is a bold face lie! After the sales person left my house...I never heard back from him after I said I wanted to cancel and wanted to question why he charged my card when I told him to wait a week or so. SCAM arrest to the fullest. They don't even give you procedures on how to cancel without reprocussions happing like this. I should have sent in a written notification or something. But what can you do when they brush you off and not even respond. They were definetly responsive before they took my money. And now this is the first response I got since contacting the Revdex.com.

They also sent me a small door in the mail even after the fact. What the hell was that about! It's like they played the role of having a deaf ear! I would gladly send door back but the company never called be back to tell me to do that. Hell....they didn't even call or write me back to tell me they weren't refunding my money! I just don't get how they do business.

I also filed a dispute with my credit card company after noticing that they didn't refund my money after a month went by.

Regards,

Review: In September, 2011, ACR was referred to me by my neighbor whose cabinets I admiredI called their office at [redacted] and a male introduced himself as the owner of ACR and proceeded to answer my question and schedule an appointment for the estimates to be doneHe told me the representative was [redacted] who would call me and schedule an appointment
**[redacted] called me and scheduled an appointment for 29th SeptemberHe concluded the assessment costs ($13, 259.00) and I informed him I would not be ready to finance the work for about two months since it was more expensive than I anticipatedHe offered me some financial options for credit he could work out with my good creditI refused and we agreed I will call him when financially prepared to proceedHe thoroughly convinced me that of the $3,Down payment needed, I Should give him a "Good Faith" deposit of $check to help cover his work in the meantime, and when I had the additional $2,to cover the full deposit $3,to initiate the work, just call himThey cashed the check
In October, I was informed that my roof needed replacementMid October, I contacted **[redacted] by his cell # ###-###-#### and informed him that the roof is priority and I will delay the cabinetsHe offered me a roofer, but I informed him I had one identifiedI told him it would be a few months to have the roof paid for and then I could start the cabinetsHe agreed that when I had the additional $2,money for Down payment just call
In May of 2012, I made contact with **[redacted] and discussed that I should be able to proceed in the Summer and he verified that the "Good Faith" deposit of $remains applicable to the Down payment and look forward to scheduling the start date in the SummerI started attempts to contact **[redacted] in August through November, but never received a response to ant of my messagesI then began calling the office at [redacted] and in a few days, the Owner called meI explained conversation agreements with **[redacted] and inquired of "Good Faith" deposit of $He told me he would check the contract and call me next day but did notI gave it a rest for the holidays
A few weeks passed and I began leaving messages at [redacted] in February He eventually returned my call and said **[redacted] will contact me but he did not so I again began calling his cellI sensed there were integrity issues unraveling with this Owner and **[redacted][redacted] finally answered his cell one day in March and said he was out of town and would call me on returnHe proceeded to tell me it's been a while and could not speak to the contract without looking at itAt that point I informed him that I had questions about their operations and I would not be comfortable trusting them any further so I requested the refund of "Good Faith" deposit of $He angrily told me that they could and will keep the money for their efforts and because I did not cancel order in daysI asked him why did they not just return the deposit if it taking so longI have not heard from him since even after several more calls to his cell requesting my refund
The neighbor who referred me called a few times August through September and left messages at [redacted] requesting they return my deposit because she referred me and she is embarrassed by their behaviorThey have never responded to her, I need help and need my money to consider interviewing another possible contractorDesired Settlement: Refund-Check of deposit of $intended towards Down payment of the $3,needed,

I am rejecting this response because:
I was not given a CONTRACT but a document of ESTIMATE PROPOSALA CONTRACT in which I was in agreement would have had an ADDENDUM with all my specifications to cover the usual INTEGRITY issues that plagues the industryThe $was not the DOWNPAYMENT required to initiate the work (please see that amount on previous filing) so to now call this document titled ESTIMATE PROPOSAL A CONTRACT, may require a Judge to review it and for that, I'm prepared to acquire the experienceA document titled ESTIMATE PROPOSAL cannot possible represent a CONTRACT, and an actual Commitment CONTRACT to be initiated without the total DOWNPAYMENT may require a Judge to review the document of ESTIMATE PROPOSAL
If that line about cancelling in days applied to this case, why did the Sales person **[redacted] kept the communication going for months due to situations already noted? Could it be that is because I was not yet in Contractual commitment but a "good faith situation for trusting him" as he proclaimed
Why did the owner not follto inform me of this after I spoke with him about the communication of delay reasons I have been having with **[redacted]?
Only after a year did **[redacted] in anger told me they could keep my money after:
(a) I voiced that I needed a re-evaluation to ensure I am clear of what the Cost Estimate covers since an independent Contractor had asked me questions about the Cost Estimate document that I could not answer and
(b) the fact that I did have a good feeling about this company after the owner and him were not responding to my calls efficiently
So 40% of what amount does the customer owe and for what?
May everyone be informed that the measurements and document preparation titled ESTIMATE PROPOSAL from two of the largest Home stores was done at the cost of $meaning, the same thing **[redacted] didSo 40% of what amount does the customer owe and for what since there have never been an established CONTRACT or the required DOWNPAYMENT made?

I am rejecting this response because: A document with the heading of Proposal Estimate is exactly thatThe two major home stores that completed the same activities as ACR representative provided me with a similar document of same title of Proposal Estimate is exactly that and the cost was $Therefore, to keep my deposit of $given to **[redacted] in good faith as he requested when he knew I could not and did not make the required down payment and that would cause a delay of about two or three months, after which (we discussed the roof replacement emergency that would further delay) to which he agreed, with the balance of the proposed cost due upon work completionWith that said, how and why would I cancel anything in three days? Please note the Proposal Estimate was never signed for approval based on their terms for payment schedule
They communicated with me through years of their participation and agreement to keep communicating until whenever I had the down payment and was ready since I declined their offer to finance a loanAgain, how and why would I cancel anything in three days? No time through years of their participation and agreement to keep communicating was any mention of cancellation
Towards the end of years of their communication participation with me (through 2013) and their sustained agreement to keep communicating until I acquired the initial required down payment; To then hear about three days cancellation noncompliance as the excuse being given is deemed substandard business ethics substantiated by the ACR owner not returning my $
Early 2013, I asked **[redacted] for a return visit to verify some of the work involved and answer few questions my contractor asked about as I was ready to move forward but needed answers, That is the first time ever he angrily stated "we could keep your money" because this was a long timeThat was when I realized there are definitely integrity issues brewing and when he nor the owner called me back, (or the neighbor who referred them and left several messages upon learning of my concerns) I knew for sure I was no longer able to trust the owner and representative of ACRHad I read their Web ratings prior, I would have been aware
I agree for a payment amount to cover measurements and the standard amount appears to be $per two major home stores that completed the same activities and Proposal Estimate, although I still do not have remodeled cabinetsI will present this case through every legal channel available until amicably resolved
