I never received a voicemail or phone call as the email suggestedWhen I called they wanted to inform me there is no battery with the camera and wanted to me to purchase one, the only question they asked about my billing information was my zip code but it was to look up my orderI felt very frustrated that they held my order just to try to up-sell a battery, why not inform me of this on your website? I found a two battery pack elsewhere that was less than the one battery they were trying to sell meI called after not receiving my order for two weeks, after a minute wait on hold I was told my order had shipped and to expect it in business daysAfter that did not happen, I called again, I was then told the camera was on back order, an email or call would have been nicenot being lied to the first time saying my order was on its way would have also been niceThey delayed the back order three times and I had called the next day following the back order date they had given meAfter the third time it was going to push my order out monthsI requested to have my order cancelled mid-Nov 2015, they immediately said that it was cancelled and hung up on meOverall, I tried to purchase here and they were not very good, I cancelled my order and we will part ways with no financial inconvenience as I was never chargedThe biggest regret is that the camera was to take photos of my newborn who was born weeks ago which will be an opportunity lost that I will never get back

This company uses a bait and switch type order processThey list DSLR cameras for one price and then under free shipping they have a to days before it shipsDuring that timeframe, we received an email asking us to call in to the center and confirm the orderThis is when they tell you your camera has no battery and no memoryThis information is not on the page detailing what the camera comes withThere is nothing on their site that indicates the camera does not come complete, I went back and read their description again after the sales call to make sureI called to cancel the item and they were on holiday for the first two days of the weekWhen I finally reached someone to cancel the order I was told I would have to accept the item and get an RMA number to get a refundI told them I would not accept delivery of the item and was instructed that they would not accept the returnThey went on to state I would not have any further recourse at that pointThey are an international company and I could do nothingThen they hung up on meAt the time of this letter I still do not have a tracking number or confirmation email that the item has even shippedDo not order from this company! They do not care about the American Consumer, even though they have a Florida business address

DO NOT ORDER from this company! They never responded to my emails When I called I was on hold for minutes Periodically someone would pick up and as soon as I said "what's going on with my order" they put me on hold right away Finally got *** to talk to me claimed item on backorder when I had just gotten an email order update saying it is back in stock and preparation in progress said won't be until end of month I said just cancel my order then he hung up on me no cancellation confirmation # or nothing And what's with the stores being in Florida and I had to call a number in California for service? Total Scammers!

I made the mistake of ordering a camera from American Camera Company Everything that all the other reviewers said happened to me too I placed the order and within a couple days, I received the email asking me to call the phone number to "verbally verify" my purchase I was on hold for over minutes before I spoke to anyone The guy finally answered (rudely) "Yeah, can I help." I told him I wanted to cancel my order, he asked for my zip code and placed me on hold again without saying anything Another person (sounded like the same guy?) answered and said the same thing "Yeah can I help." Same thing- I told him I wanted to cancel my order and he asked why, and I said I found a better deal somewhere else (I was trying to be nice) So then he started interrogating me about this "other deal," and I just kept repeating that I wanted to cancel my order Finally he said, "I need a real reason," so I told him that I read online that the company was a scam, he assured me they weren't So then I said, "Well, if you're not a scam then it shouldn't be hard for you to just cancel my order," but the guy HUNG UP on me before I could finish that statement I decided to call my bank and have them block and issue me a new card DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!

I purchased a camera bundle from this company and was excited because this camera is hard to findThe site looked a little odd but I have seen others similar to itAfter I made my purchase which I admit I did hastily I began to look into reviews onlineMy stomach sankNone were goodThe following day after I placed my order I got a call from a number ID of X-XXX-XXX-XXXX and I just knew it was this companyCall started with the agent wanting to confirm my address which we did then he asked me who camera was forI told him that was not relevant and he told me I was rude and he was just inquiring if the person getting the camera would need to purchase a batteryI ordered a bundle which not only came with a battery but at least ten accessories I told him I wanted to cancel the order and that I would be reporting the company as fraudulent and reporting it to my credit card I told him I had read the reviews and had expected his callHe then hung up on me I got an email of the cancelled order and my credit card is aware not to honor any requests for payment from this company

This company is a scam They lie to the consumer and do not deliver the products that you pay for They do not list there address on their website, and the area code is registered in Winters, California I keep getting information about my order, and they claim it is in the mail When I requested a tracking number I was told they did not keep such a record This in itself should set a alarm off to the consumer

I ordered a Nikon D750 from the American Camera Company website, submitted my payment information, and was sent a confirmation email the following morning claiming that "For your security we need to verify your order, please call us at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX ext 1 to provide a verbal confirmation so that we can ship out your product." Before calling to "confirm my order," I thought to research reviews online about this company and immediately had regrets about ordering. I decided to call one of the phone numbers they provided, X-XXX-XXX-XXXX ext. 1 (the other number provided was ext. 715), to cancel my order. I was asked why I wanted to cancel my order and I responded that I was no longer interested in the product because I found another product with a better price, and the person on the phone immediately asked how much the other product was being offered for, to which I replied that I did not need to discuss that with him. He continued to push and ask about the model and price of the other product, also saying that he could "beat that price" several times and before angrily hanging up on me, said "call me back when you have the model and price." I did not have a chance to finish canceling my order. I have a feeling from the reviews I read that this order was never going to be canceled so I promptly canceled my credit card so I could not be charged. Fortunately the charge did not show up on my account before canceling the card, but I wanted to err on the side of caution.

I have read several reviews that this "company" requires you to call them after purchase so they can upsell you and offer items that are extremely inflated in price. I originally chose to purchase from this company because their price was at least $400-500 less than their "competitors." I have a suspicion that they are selling counterfeit or non-licensed equipment, which is why they are so much cheaper than their competitors' products.

After that did not happen, I called again, I was then told the camera was on back order, an email or call would have been nice... not being lied to the first time saying my order was on its way would have also been nice. They delayed the back order three times and I had called the next day following the back order date they had given me. After the third time it was going to push my order out 2 months. I requested to have my order cancelled mid-Nov 2015, they immediately said that it was cancelled and hung up on me. Overall, I tried to purchase here and they were not very good, I cancelled my order and we will part ways with no financial inconvenience as I was never charged. The biggest regret is that the camera was to take photos of my newborn who was born 2 weeks ago which will be an opportunity lost that I will never get back.

I just placed an order with this company yesterday (at the time of this review). This morning, I received an e-mail stating that I needed to call a phone number ( a non 800 number) to provide "verbal verification" of my order.

After calling, this was the following experience:

Representative: "How may I help you?"
Me: "I'm calling to confirm my order"
Rep: "zip-code"
Me: "[redacted]"
(Rep puts me on hold for 5 minutes)
Representative number 2: "How may I help you"
Me:"Um...I'm calling to confirm my order"
Rep#2: "What's your zip code?"
Me: "[redacted]"
(Rep puts me on hold for another 5 minutes)
ad infinitum...

I spoke to 4 different people, who asked the same question before putting me on hold and finally hanging up on me when I got aggravated and asked them to please confirm my order.

I called back, with a different extension, supposedly customer service. I got the same question / answer routine through 3 more people before finally forcing one of them to stay on the phone long enough to explain. He said that because my billing address and shipping address were different, it was causing a problem. I said that's fine, just ship it to the billing address. That seemed to fix things.

An hour later, I get a phone call from a number "0-000-000-0000". It's them, supposedly finalizing my order.

This is when I'm informed that the camera I ordered is not a US model, and that the menus and manual will be in chinese. I'm asked if I want to purchase the US model for an extra $150. Well, yes. I'm then told that I need to order batteries separately, would I like to purchase memory cards, warranty, etc.

I added on a 5-year warranty, but told them I needed nothing else. End of call.

At this point, I'm worried, so I begin looking up reviews of the company, only to find out that dozens of people have been fraudulently charged, never received items they paid for, could not cancel orders once placed, received broken, damaged, or incorrect goods, etc.

I'm having Visa, our card issuer, cancel the payment as soon as it's posted, and buying from a reputable seller. I regret posting a positive review on the site, right after my purchase, because at that point, things seemed on the up-and-up.
