Review: I went to American Car Care of Shawano WI to diagnose a vehicle issue. After I dropped off the car, I later received a voice mail explaining that I need a new starter and that it will cost $315. I went back to American Car Care and paid a $44.72 diagnosing fee and told the front counter person that I want to take it somewhere else to be fixed because I couldn't afford the $315, and then he goes to explain to me that I can go out and buy a new starter and have them put the new one in and I told him no. I told him I am going to have my boyfriend replace it because it would be cheaper and then the front counter person pulls out my starter from underneath the counter and tells me that when his buddy tried taking the starter off, it broke. I was absolutely surprised that he did not mention that in the voice mail nor did he tell me right away when I got there. I had to get my car towed because these mechanics at American Car Care broke my starter. After taking there advice about getting a new starter for my vehicle, the new starter did not fix the problem. These mechanics at American Car Care did not properly diagnose my vehicle and refused to give me a refund.Desired Settlement: Either refund my $44.72 diagnosing fee or diagnose the problem properly without any additional fees

Company states that they have spoken with the consumer and it was a communication error. They towed her car, because the consumer had a bad starter, it ended up melting a wire in her steering column. They have taken care of it and they didn't charge the consumer.
