American Christian Tours, Inc. Reviews (1)

I have been meaning to write this review:
My child's Christian school used American Christian Tours, based out of Rice Lake, WI, for our 4th grade class trip to Sacramento, CA. I was very apprehensive about this trip, since weather forecast predicted a very strong El Nino storm around the time of the trip--yes, "Ye of little faith"...
We just got back from visiting the California State Capitol a few weeks ago and I have to say that if you are hesitating and wondering if this trip is worth it, it really is.
The Lord blessed us with beautiful weather. I knew we weren't taking a rickety yellow school bus, but didn't realize how nice the charter tour bus would be. Our driver, Johnathan, handled the bus beautifully on our crazy freeways and the smaller inland roads. He was so patient when some of us were late or when someone had to get off the bus to retrieve something from a restaurant.
Our tour guide, Mr. M[redacted], was just as amazing. He shared a lot of information about California's history and was a wealth of knowledge and patience. He showed an interest in getting to know all the students and parents.
The stops you'll make will depend on what your school selects. I was happy with every place we visited--the cheese production factory, gold mine, Sutter's Fort, panning for gold and yes, the State Capitol.
The trip was well-paced. The Marriott hotel stay was fine. I shared a room with two other students, not including my own child. I heard that father-daughter combos get their own room :).
The restaurants could've been better, but it's food--fast, convenient and filling.
Many of the parents on the trip commented on how great the experience was. If I could do it all over again, I would pack a little better--deck of cards or games to occupy the time on the bus, more snacks, and more money.
The total trip for parent and child was $1000, which is a lot. Our class did a few fundraisers, which covered the majority of the cost for a few students. It was a great trip! I've driven to Northern California many times, but I would've never stopped by these places on my own.
Thank you Mr. M[redacted], Johnathan, and American Christian Tours for a fabulous three-day trip. May the Lord bless all your trips in the future.
