Dear Revdex.com:I wish to respond to the allegations found in the complaint notice of 5/21/15.
1. First, please note that the complaint was filed five months AFTER the date of the basis for the complaint. This person has not contacted the school subsequent to the date of the basis of the complaint.
2. I believe it is obvious the complainant failed the test.
3. The complainant says he paid for services he did not get. That is incorrect. Our school provides access to the test (we are an approved provider), provides a computer and headset for test-taking, and a quiet room for test taking. The test was taken on December 23. We were between quarters that day—no students in classrooms. Instructions are given thru the computer and the CLEP program.
4. Computer room--this person was the only person in the computer room during the test, except for our campus administrator who enters the room periodically to make sure all is OK. It is possible there is noise or talk outside the test room that is heard when the door is opened for entry by the test administrator.
5. Headset-one cannot access the test without a working headset. If this person had a damaged headset, our administrator logically would have been told and a replacement provided.
6. Phone contact-complainant says he tried to contact the school but was put on hold and never was connected therefore he never was able to talk to anyone at he school. Answer-- NOT LIKELY.
7. In sum, none of the allegations mentioned interfered with the person's ability to successfully complete and pass the test. The instructions, test protocols and grading are all done by the CLEP company. When students pass a CLEP test, they may receive college credit for a course and therefore avoid paying a college fee for those credits.
8. Conclusion. Our college will refund the $40 received from the complainant. The $80 fee paid to CLEP directly is the price the student paid for attempting the test. None of the allegations correlate with causes for test failure.
If you wish to discuss this further, please contact me at [redacted]0.
Sincerely,
William V. S[redacted], PHDPresident, ACCT
