We have nothing but praise for Robin [redacted] and his gang We had a complete replacement of our heating and a/c units The crew was courteous and professional No damage at all to the interior of our home even though everything had to come out of and go up into the attic though our hallway pulldown stairs We had a temperature imbalance problem between our master bedroom and the rest of the house Robin solved this by adding an air return and increasing the insulation above the bedroom Everything was finished in a day and a half We cannot say enough about how pleased we are with the work done by American Comfort Solutions

American Comfort Solutions in Katy, Texas owed by Robin & Louisa *** are, along with their staff/employees the "BEST A/C COMPANY" around! They go beyond any expectections to service you and make sure the product/service call is doneWe called today, spoke with Jennifer cause the A/C unit was not cooling and with me being a disabled Veteran plus my wife being sick/disabled they got here as soon as they could! They were swamped to say the least! The gentleman got here between 9:27-9:45pmTechnician *** made sure our unit was up and cooling before leaving! Mr *** did an awesome JobHe explained everything to me! Thank you American Solutions for being #1!!!! ??

Not a good experience Their technician was very patronizing and somewhat rude Made us feel like he was going out of his way to help usHe wanted to replace an expensive gas valve and ordered the part without informing me that I would have to pay 1/upfront and that it would take 7-days to receive Based on that info I explained that I wanted to check other companies before committing He got huffy I paid the diagnostic fee and asked him to leave I see good reviews of other technicians at this firm, but our technician was not one of them I will not be using them in the future based on this technician's demeanor and lack of professionalism

Dear [redacted] , First of all please accept our apologies if our Service Technician John may have mislead you in any way , this is not our intention .The Technician was in your home from 9.45 AM until 11.31 AM on 7/24/14 .
The reason we utilize the SYSTEM PERFORMANCE REPORT is to minimize any...

confusion when inspecting a system , the Technician is required to work through the Checklist and outline any areas of concern to the homeowner. I personally de-briefed the Technician and felt that he performed a thorough and complete inspection of the 2 systems .However in good faith we will refund the amount of $ 158.00 for the services performed . It would not be fair for me to comment on the findings of the other company unless I could have access to that companies detailed System performance report or checklist ..
The items of concern relating to your systems where as follows .
1) ( item 56 on the system performance report SPR) Install a service T on Upstairs system primary drain line for better drainpipe and ease of service 
2) ( Item 55 on SPR ) Replace rusty emergency drain-pan on upstairs system , drain-pans can fail on the corner welds and leak substantial water onto ceilings and insulation
3) ( Item 10 on SPR ) Adjust R22 Refrigerant charge due to high Sub-cooling and low super-heat on upstairs system outlined on item 10 and 11 of the  SPR includes a Electronic leak search to pinpoint the leak source 
4)( Item 7 on SPR ) Replace Run capacitor this is reading less than 10 % of desired value per the manufactures guidelines Upstairs system
5)( Item 54 on SPR )Install Pan treatments in both drain-pans , this is a maintenance item that reduces clogged drains and is a time real ease product that lasts 6 months per system 
6) ( Item 69 on SPR ) Install surge protectors on both systems , surge protection in the Katy Area is becoming a safeguard that most manufactures are commending due to voltage spikes, brown outs and power surges 
7) )( Item 7 on SPR ) Replace Run capacitor this is reading less than 10 % of desired value per the manufactures guideline Downstairs system
8) ( Item 49 on SPR ) Install a emergency float switch on Downstairs system .This device shuts off the system if the emergency pan overflows .

refusal to refund money for an unneeded and unused part.during several visits to service my hvac, ACS determined that my compressor was not functioning and attempted to fix the problem with a $100 part (a hard start). the hard start helped to start my compressor one time; however, after the repairman left, the compressor once again (and forever) died. I was told that it was beyond repair and I needed to either replace my entire hvac or replace the compressor. the hard start was taken off of the compressor and the repairman took it back. when I asked to have the $100 that I paid for the part refunded, I was told that they would not refund the money.ACS has historically provided me with good, prompt and reasonably priced service. however, I believe that the refusal to refund my money for a part that was used one time and was ultimately, not needed was in part driven by the fact that I informed them that I was unable to fund either a replacement compressor or a replacement hvac system at the time. furthermore, they were aware that I had sought quotes from other companies. the part will undoubtedly be put back into circulation and sold to the next customer in need of the part for a repair. I have since been able to secure the funding for a new hvac system and I am dismayed that I no longer trust ACS with my heating and air needs and will now have to contract a new company to replace my hvac..... all over a $100 partDesired Settlementrefund the 100 and restore my faith in the companyBusiness Response /[redacted]/According to this notice, a previous attempt to contact our company regarding this matter has been made. I would like the record to show that we have received no such notice and are hearing of this complaint #XXXXXXXX for the very first time today, 8/18/14.We came to the customer's home on 7/27/14 and found the heating and air conditioning unit not running. We installed a hard start kit, which is standard industry procedure for such a problem and it gave the compressor enough charge to start and run. This part was $101.73. Unfortunately, we were called out again the following day and found the compressor had failed again and were unable to get it running again. At this time, we gave the customer a price for replacing the compressor, as well as a price to replace the entire unit. We also left the customer a portable air conditioning unit to keep at least one room of his home cool while he took the time to decide on how to proceed. We offered the customer several applications for financing through our multiple lending partners along with information regarding his system replacement options. The customer was unfortunately unable to secure funding through our lenders at that time. The following day, 7/29/14, the customer contacted our office to inquire about a refund for the hard start kit. We informed him that we would gladly give him full credit for the part toward either repair of his existing unit with the installation of a new compressor, or toward the replacement of his system with a brand new unit. If the customer has found his own means of financing the repair or replacement of his unit, then we are still happy to offer him this credit toward that end.Finally, for the record, we would never resell a part as the customer opines. Once a part is installed, we do not take them back, just as we cannot send them back to our suppliers for credit if we have installed them. The part was left with the homeowner and we are not in possession of it to do anything with in any case. I can only speculate that the technician originally removed the part, incorrectly assuming that I would want it back if I chose to give the customer credit for it.
