I obtain a contractor to fix my roof and siding in result damages from an insurance claim.
I signed a contract to have the work done on 10/30/2018 and only half of the job is done and contractor has already received 85% of the claim proceeds. My roof is done and the siding and the rest of the outside house haven't even been started.
He has put me off for almost a year with weekly excuses or promises.
The business did not receive 85% of the money. The business owner will not do anymore work for the consumer. Any additional work would be outside of the scope of work as defined by the insurance company. Any further dispute matters should be referred to the business' attorney.
The consumer contracted the business to do both the roof and the siding. Only the roof was completed. The business received approximately $11,000 out of the $15,000 at the onset of the job.
The consumer is frustrated. He knows of other consumers whose jobs were also not completed by the business. The consumer just wants the work completed. The consumer will be happy to pay the business the remaining balance (approximately $4,000) when the work is done.
