Review: Our contractor, [redacted] of American Contracting Company, Inc [redacted] home. [redacted] cell) has completely walked out on a contract after collecting 90% of the payment ($14,500). We paid 6K as an initial payment then after two days on the job he completed a change order contract for 5K stating that he collects money for change orders at the time they are done and that is his policy. On 4/15, Mr [redacted] collected an additional $2,000 and on 5/14 insisted he needed $1,500 for supplies. His initial completion date was April 22. The project was nowhere near completed at that time. He started working (weekdays only) on April 6 and worked only 8 days in April. His second completion date was May 17th and it was not met.He has left several of the tasks on the contract undone. He put up an unsafe deck with only a floor, no railing nor steps. He was supposed to line all of our box gutters and tuck point all bricks, this also was left undone and already paid for. He replaced a front sidewalk and left a large crack between the sidewalk and the step, allowing water to seap in, while the sidewalk was meant to redirect water. Finally, Mr [redacted]'s contract (which I can provide) states that he will haul away all debris and concrete. He left a huge, heaping pile of our former concrete porch's pieces in the back yard, its a big eye sore. He and his team had left milk bottles, soda bottles and used lunch bags with discarded food items in this pile, which we had to remove due to the sanitation issue. I have multiple emails from Mr [redacted] with excuse upon excuse about either why his workers couldn't show up (they had company in from out of town or they were pulled over for expired inspection) or why he couldn't buy the supplies after we had provided payment.We want to prevent Mr [redacted] from victimizing another family.Desired Settlement: As more than half of the contract was not complete -- a floor to A deck w put up with no steps, nor railing, the front sidewalk that he replaced is flawed, has no finish and has a crack where it meets the step. All box gutter were not lined and repaired and were paid for. Per the contract, Mr. [redacted] was to install a composite deck on the lower deck as well. Also, per contract, the bricks were to be tucked and pointed. Finally, all concrete debris was to be hauled- total refund $7,000
