American Contractors may have classes or seminars. But their CD's as well as study material that they send out to people in different parts of the country? Needs work. I try to give companies the benefit of the doubt. But 2x was more than enough slack with this company.

[redacted] business and Law. Their CD has serious math mistakes. Also, if you press the letter "B" for your answer and it's correct. The CD says "incorrect", the answer is "B". Really? Or they'll just screw up a math problem, on the CD, and obviously hope that YOU figure it out.

Here are a few examples of their horrendous materials for the GB2 exam. There are 7 books that one should study for the GB2. The BOOKS from the authors are updated - but the study guide is not. What's even worse, it's not even edited.

Examples of mistakes:

Throughout the book the answers state one page and it's not even anywhere near the page they've quoted. Why? Because they haven't revised their study guide since probably the year 2000 maybe earlier, and here it is 2016.. Really?

And don't try to match the pages for the Energy Conservation Codes to the study guide - you'll be ripping your hair out.

11.67 x 10 = 94.2 Seriously..

Question: Wood shingles or shakes use how many nails?

Answer: "Nails".. That's the answer. I'm not kidding. I thought you used chewing gum.. Who knew.

I have called these guys before. And if it's your first time, they'll answer.. After that? If they see it's an "out of state" number, or after a recent purchase? They will not pick up, nor return your voicemail.

I ordered tabs from them, asking for the MULTICOLORED as well as the white ones. The chick - Lynn sent all white tabs.

I called back after receiving them? She didn't pick up.. I left a quick voice mail message asking her to return my phone as soon as she had a chance. She didn't return it. But she DID send an email immediately after that voicemail message with a copy of my receipt. - Asking if I needed a receipt. - Really?

I emailed back saying "No, this is regarding the tabs." And, of course.. that was the end of THAT conversation. She never returned that email.

I don't think i'm the only one with these problems. But I will warn others that, American Contractors is also working through Dewalt exam prep services.

The people who bought the Dewalt Exam prep are also complaining about the same problems on Amazon.com. The CD's the study materials, the math mistakes, Everything. Why am I not surprised?

Took the class they offer to help prepare you for the contractors license exam. I don't think there is any way you could pass this exam first time without going through this class. They also offer a lot of additional services to help you through the licensing process that I plan on taking advantage of!

I struggled with if I should pay for what I considered my laziness by not studying on my own. After taking the class I realize that I would have just been spinning my wheels studying on my own with out their direction.
