American Credit Collections Reviews (5)

Review: The collection agency calls repeatedly to my cellphone. One time it was actually a live person they refused to tell me what I supposedly owed money for just kept trying to get a credit card number from me. I informed them that I did not give them permission to call me and insisted they only communicate via US postal service. They are extremely rude and argumentative, they claim to be above the law. I have informed them that they were calling a cellphone and costing me even more money. Since that time they have proceeded to call the same cellphone number only now it is an automated computer voice from [redacted].Desired Settlement: I still have no idea what they are claiming I owe money for. They display all of the characteristics of phishing phone call trying to get information with out fully disclosing who they are and what they are calling for.

Dear [redacted]:

Attached please find [redacted] On-Line enrollment agreement.

[redacted] enrolled in the Paralegal student on July 22, 2010 completing 24% of course with last payment of November 29, 2010.

If student wishes to cancel out of the program her liability owed would be $541.60. If student wishes to continue with her studies the balance due is $1,224.10.

As per the allegations from student about breaking into her home etc., we have pulled the phone recordings and found that statement to be untrue.

Collector and Student were not able to come to a common understanding.

If you or the student should need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me at [redacted]

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I was in jail from September 16th, 2010, to November 29th, 2011. I never enrolled in a college program threw [redacted]. I made no payments to this place and completed no course work. During this alleged time I was going to [redacted]. You can not go to two collages at the same time. I was not given any notice that the calls were being recorded, and it is my understanding that their calls are not recorded. I was threatened and demand proof that I was not. I have a third party who was listening to the conversations and even she hear them threaten me. I even went to call the police but was directed to notify the Revdex.com of this disgraceful acts. They also refused to give me an address to send a cease and desist order. They are to stop contacting PERIOD.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: they still have a negative mark on my credit report. This is not my bill and they need to take this off off my credit report, and stop reporting false information to the credit burro. They are already being sued for harassment and putting negative marks on peoples credit reports. They have a history of making false collections actions, and derogatory marks on peoples credit reports, and I refuse to be another one of their victims. THIS IS NOT MY BILL!!!

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: that is not my e mail, or my back account information. POINT blank this is not my account, and I told them this. I never went to [redacted]. What more do they want. The last four of the social are mine, however when I called and tried to straighten this out with them I gave them a fake social and they informed me that this bill was to the fake social security number I made up. and [redacted] were not in it. I demand this be taken off my credit it is not my bill and this is damaging my credit. It is also harassing now and I am looking into legal action that I can take against this fraudulent company. I was in jail the months they are claiming I made payments. Which is physically impossible. I also live in the state of **, and their is a 3 year limitation for collections, this fake agreement they produced has no signature, and appears to be a fake document anyway. Its dated in 2010, its 2013. Any and all collections actions are time barred now. The statute of limitations is up for this claim anyway. NOW this needs to be taken off my credit report, this is not my bill and I will not ask again. If this is not rectified NOW I will be forced to sue for harassment, emotional distress, and and all negative effects this has had on my credit, and anything else that my lawyer feels I am entitled too. Their is already a class action that I can join in on, on top of a private law suet. I am done. this needs to be rectified, I am tired of this back and forth, and now they are calling the house number to the address of which I live, their are 3 other people that live their and they are calling them threatening them, and telling them I owe them money when I don't. They have been told to stop calling the house number several times because I do not use the house phone. They were told to cease and dissits all collections actions and have not. Now they are harassing my roommates. For every day they still call after they (in writing) acknowledged to stop collections actions I will sue for damages.

Review: While looking over my credit report well over a year ago I noticed that this agency reported a collections against me when I was a minor. I immediately called the agency and was told that I could not be given any information in regards to the collections account because I didn't have a proper docket number. A month ago I decided to again request a credit report and saw that the collections account had been updated and closed by one credit bureau. I once again called and was finally given information in regards to the collections account. I was told that it was a court fee from when I was a minor and when I asked why I had never been notified of it being in collections I was told that every thirty days a letter is sent to my home address informing me of my ongoing collections. I calmly explained to the woman I was speaking with that I had never received such a letter and she proceeded to ask me my home address, which I gave and was rudely told that no one would ever believe that I had never received a letter when they have the correct address. I at this point was told I was speaking with the manager and asked why it was closed on one credit bureau's report and she told me it was still open and that it must be a mistake. I then asked when it was opened and was first told 2010, but when I said that I was sixteen at that point she switched to saying it was opened in 2011 when I was seventeen years old. The "manager" then proceeded to tell me that my mother had called a while back and told them that she would pay the debt and I told them that my mother had never called them and the reasoning would be that I never even told her about the collections account on my credit report. The manager of this agency was rude, arrogant and a liar. I want to know why they reported this debt that I attained at sixteen to the credit bureau's a year later when I was seventeen years old, I want to know why I was never notified of it being in collections and also why i'm assumed legally responsible for a legal matter that I was not legally responsible for. I've already spoken with a lawyer and was told that I should file a complaint and dispute this with all three credit bureau's because as he said "minors are not legally able to enter into binding contracts!" I was never even notified by the court house, but that's easily explained by the fact that again I was a minor and all court proceedings and legal fees were directed to my mother because i'll repeat myself, I WAS A MINOR and she was my guardian. It's almost a joke that the credit bureau's would allow these people to report against a seventeen year old.Desired Settlement: I want the collections account to be removed from my credit through all three major credit bureau's.
