American Eagle Concrete

Review: American Eagle Concrete provides poured concrete foundation walls for construction of residential homes. The primary communication between the owner [redacted] and I was completed via email and documented.

After meeting onsite the week before pouring the walls we made some changes to the length of the foundation walls and clarified the required elevations of walls. This information was provided on 6/2/13 and footings and foundations were poured on 6/5/13-6/6/13. [redacted] acknowleged the changes in length to the foundation walls but neglected the elevations. After the walls were poured [redacted] took it upon himself to place masonry block atop the foundation wall that was poured too low to try and remedy the elevation and then charged me for this additional work that I never accepted. Per our contract this was supposed to be poured concrete not masonry block!

[redacted] should have volunteered to remove the frost wall in full and re-pour knowing he missed the elevation information. That's what a reputable contractor would have done in this instance.

In an effort to compromise on [redacted]'s mistake, I filled the masonry blocks with grout and anchor bolts on my own dime and would like to backcharge the contractor $250 for my time and materials in addition to not paying for the masonry block that was installed as a proposed fix without prior approval.

I have discussed with [redacted] in detail and documented via email. He is unwilling to adjust billing or acknowledge his mistake in this matter. He has filed an intent to file lien as a threat and this was received at my PO Box 9/18/13.Desired Settlement: Revise final bill from $4,190 to $3,885 per my correspond to American Eagle Concrete on 8/20/13.

Provide final lien waiver in the amount of $3,885.
