Review: I have contacted this company several times in the past regarding a debt in which they claim I owed them. Due to a divorce, I was no longer liable for a debt which belonged to my ex-wife, this company not only ignored my request to remove the debt from my credit but never provided me with written statements or billing agreements showing me totals, only verbal statements were made back in 2010. To this day, I have contested with all 3 agencies that this debt does not belong to me and the company still claims it's my responsibility.Desired Settlement: I want the negative collection removed from my credit report immediately. Although it won't reflect for 90 days, I will be satisified with that. If the company wishes to have payment for the rings as my ex-wife will no doubt not pay for said items (which she sold off my ring) I will be glad to work out an arrangement with them, under the agreement that the collection is REMOVED completely from my credit report as a negative item. Not showed as a negative paid item, but removed entirely.

Thanks.

Response:

Much of what [redacted] says is not correct. [redacted] signed a contract for 2 military rings May 17, 2009. His ex wife did not purchase these rings. [redacted] purchased the rings. We know this for several reasons. When a military ring is purchased by someone other than that person we demand full identification of the purchaser. This particular sales rep gives us more information than any other. All conversations with [redacted] and his promises of payment have been documented. [redacted] gave us new credit card information June 2010. He told us at that time he was discharged from the military on disablilty and though he was working a less satisfiying job wanted to get this bill cleared. Unfortunatedly, the card declined payments. September of 2011 his account was placed with the credit bureau. [redacted] called Oct 26, 2011 and wanted to get his debt take of since he then had a steay job. We explained to him that if he paid the original cost of the ring in one lump sum we would remove all late fees. He told us that he would call us back as soon as he could arrange that. We never heard from him again. His account has not been written off, not sold off or closed. He still owes us $651.00. He did not call to tell us he was divorced nor would it have made a difference. None of the 3 major credit bureaus have sent a rebuttal or asked for modification. The last late fees added to this account were is March 2011. It has not been re-aged, no paper work has been received challenging any of his account. I suggest strongly that he pays his bill before it is re-aged.

I am rejecting this response because:

It is illegal for one to make such suggestions or allegations that things are re-aged as the law states within 7 years of original date sent to collections, the item essentially falls off the report. Re-aging is illegal, hands down. Furthermore, I did notify through the agencies and your company that I did divorce, failure to document isn't my fault nor my responsibility. You did notify all three agencies regarding no-payment and did not send billing statements to any address, thus resulting in negative collections on my credit report, to which when I divorce, I contested the debt did not belong to me and was resolved in a divorce. Futhermore, as I mentioned in the previous message, I am more than willing to work with your company on the condition that all negative collection statements are removed from my credit report (Since you claim non exist) and proof of such removal is sent to my address and in turn, I'd be more than happy to send half the payment owed to you upon reciept of this information. If you continue to be uncooperative, then I will not be cooperative by any means and continue to contest through TransUnion and Equifax.

Response:

We have not sold your account. This is the company that you bought the ring from. We may, by your contract, add additional late fees, per the contract that you signed. We reported you to one credit bureau. They did not contact us. This concludes the discussion.

I am rejecting this response because:

There obviously is a misunderstanding as to what a collection item is on an individual credit report. I ask that the Revdex.com stick with this complaint as I am attempting and have made valid attempts through the organization to solve this matter and during both conversations have been told that it would be "re-aged" which is illegal according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act and that this account has not been reported to collections but according to two different agencies, it's showing as a negative/collections account.

Thank you.
