Got an estimate to wire a new garage and upgrade our service from 100-ampsThe technician arrived and wrote an incomplete estimateHe left out the cost to wire the garageHe said he would do that work but if I wanted it included in he estimate it would cost moreVery unprofessional ! In addition to their estimate I got two othersThey were both less than half American Electrician's estimateGet more estimates than just one !

I called American Electrician to look at some outdoor outlets which had stopped working They advised replacing them with waterproof outlets that meet today's standards My house was built in when things were not as strict as they are now, and while they were here I had them go through the entire house to check everything out They found many inconsistencies with the inside outlets, and I decided to have everything brought up to code, including the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors American Electrician had professional and personable employees, and I feel confident that my home is now devoid of electrical problems I can say, without doubt, that I highly recommend this company Roberta [redacted]

I called American Electrician to look at some outdoor outlets which had stopped working. They advised replacing them with waterproof outlets that meet today's standards. My house was built in 1998 when things were not as strict as they are now, and while they were here I had them go through the entire house to check everything out. They found many inconsistencies with the inside outlets, and I decided to have everything brought up to code, including the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.

American Electrician had professional and personable employees, and I feel confident that my home is now devoid of electrical problems. I can say, without doubt, that I highly recommend this company.

I called American Electrician to get a quote on a service upgrade. Jeremy came out on the same day to our house and gave us 2 free quotes. One was for a service upgrade and the other was for a surge protector. We decided to get both the service upgrade and the surge protector so that we could later install a hot tub. They sent 2 electricians out the next day to do the work. They got the new panel and surge protector finished, turned the power on, cleaned up, and even labeled the breakers in the same day. We will definitely be using this company to hook up our hot tub in the future and any other electrical work we need.

He said he would do that work but if I wanted it included in he estimate it would cost more. Very unprofessional ! In addition to their estimate I got two others. They were both less than half American Electrician's estimate. Get more estimates than just one !

American electric came out to give an estimate for work, gave me three quotes, one completely outrageous and one reasonable. I choose the reasonable, and set a time. The owner stated that he could not do the work due to "safety," which other electricians were in disagreement. We felt that he and his staff were threatening and coercive "in the name of safety," when saying they would "turn our names in" to code inspectors, when they saw my first review online. I changed it to prevent reprisal.
Regardless if they are right or not, the attitude and their method, which we perceived as scare / threaten tactics, seems over the top. We are going to upgrade our panel but use another company.

Their intention may be "noble" and for safety, but we believe they are over priced and if one doesn't agree with them you too may have your name turned into code inspectors. Be forewarned.
