Never understood there was a 5yr contractDue to the lack of service and communication we changed companies and they sent us to collections
We had been with this home security company for years- previous houses We had several issues with our system at this house- had a saleswoman come out and had us sign some paperwork regarding the newer version of the system Did not know I was signing a five year contract that we couldn't get out of- would have never knowingly done that because there wasn't a discount or upgraded product available for this? We had numerous issues- including alarms during the night that brought out both the police and the fire dept Finally we just quit using the system...for years....then I decided to go with another company We called them and they told us tough, we owe them for the reminder of the contract I just wanted someone to help us....I felt they broke the contract by us not having a useable alarm system Worst part is they sent us

Unfair business practices when trying to terminate service Failure to return calls and provide forms in timely manner
After a failure of a temperature sensor alarm system component provided by American Electronics,we call them in *** The technician blamed the problem on us getting a new cable modem from Cox, our phone service provider stating that the phone wasn't hooked up properly I triggered the alarm and the alarm called the monitoring service which then called me as expected When speaking with the technician again, he again tried to blame me so I informed him that we would not be renewing our service agreement when it expires in ***
In ***, I received a past due statement, so I called AEI on *** and again informed them that I considered my account closed They said I can't close my account by not paying but that I had to request closure in writing I requested a form for closing my account and was told they would have
