The AFC in Trussville, AL has the worst customer service everThis location is also very unprofessionalI will never use this location, or any AFC location ever again
My daughter has an immune disorder and so she always gets recurring mycoplasma (walking pneumonia). She was traveling and needed a steroid shot and an antibiotic. She went to American family care in Panama city, FL. The doctor barely would look at her and wouldn't talk to her. He tried to tell her there was nothing wrong with her and and she refused to leave until he looked at her throat and lymph nodes. Then he said fine, I guess I see the red streaks. He said he couldn't prescribe her anything unless she came back in three days. She said she will not be there in three days that she was traveling or else she would just talk to her regular doctor. Finally, he said he would prescribe an antibiotic only if she agreed to a strep test. He essentially strong armed her into the strep test otherwise, no antibiotic was going to be given. It's not like he made her wait for the results before he prescribed, so there was no reason other than as a money maker. He also said that the steroid and antibiotic were contraindicated, so she couldn't have the steroid shot. This is her usual course of treatment when she gets sick, so she knew it wasn't true. All of this, he wouldn't talk to her directly. He required her to talk to the nurse, then the nurse would tell the doctor, then the doctor go back to the nurse as if she was the translator, but everyone was speaking English. When all was said and done, she could have just called her immunologist to call in a prescription if she knew this doctor was going to be so unethical and be charged for unnecessary tests and not give her the treatment she needed. It was ridiculous that he wouldn't talk to her either! Don't go the American Family Care in Panama City Beach! They won't help you!
