Review: We receive unwanted annoyance calls from a pre-recorded repetitive auto-dialer with the voice of the recorded message identifying themselves as "J. David C**, President of the American Federation of Government Employees." We have also received messages from this same company on our business voicemail and spoken to them live in person on the phone when they have asked to speak to a party named "Sherry W[redacted]" or "Susan W[redacted]." We have asked them repeatedly by phone, fax and postal mail to remove this telephone number from their database, and they have both ignored our requests and failed to comply with written "NOTICES TO CEASE & DESIST." Our telephone number no longer belongs to the party this company is attempting to reach who did in fact own this number at one time. We are a business and have had this telephone number since 2011. We have received calls every year. Their messages are long, loud and annoying and difficult to understand. I WANT MY NUMBER REDACTED FROM THEIR SYSTEM EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.Desired Settlement: I want written acknowledgement confirming they have received my complaint and verifying that they have in fact removed our telephone number from their call list or system database, member roster etc.

Response:
July 24, 2014Dear [redacted],I am writing in connection with the above complaint (copy attached), received in this office on July 9, 2014.Upon receipt of the complaint, I contacted each department within our organization that has occasion to keep or use a list that might contain the complainant's contact information and requested that such information be stricken from our various databases. I also instructed each department to contact any vendor with whom we do business who might be using the list containing such information to place calls. Those vendors have also been instructed to strike the complainant's contact information from their databases.I am informed that the individuals who administer the list and the associated programs that utilize the database have now all complied with the request to strike the information that resulted in this complaint, if for any reason the complainant receives any additional contact that appears to be generated by AFGE or a vendor working our behalf, please do not hesitate to contact me again. I will gladly take any additional steps that may be necessary to end these inadvertent calls. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. I trust that this matter is now closed.Sincerely,David *. B[redacted]General Counsel
