American Five Star Transmission Reviews (3)

Review: Back in October I brought my truck to American Five Star to fix my door handles and to resolve a wobbling that occurred every time that I would use my brakes. After having them look over my truck, they some how turned my broken lock cylinders (in my doors) and bent brake rotors into $2884 worth of items that NEEDED to be done IMMEDIATELY. After doing my own research after the fact, I found that not only was I grossly overcharged for the work I had done, half the things they charged me for didn't even NEED to be done. Not only that, my door broke again a month later.

Truck started falling apart again. Engine light on, heavy idle, smells like something is burning. Even though I knew that I shouldn't go back, I hoped that whatever the issue was that it would be covered under the 2-year warranty that they supposedly provide. They were nice enough to provide a tow service and quoted me $30 to have it towed to their shop. Once again, they quoted me an incredibly high price for stuff that doesn't need to be done. I was smart enough this time to get a second opinion and I'm glad that I did. The only problem is now they're making me pay them $125.00 to get my truck back. The $30 tow fee has turned into $65. The door that they fixed they claim isn't under their warranty.Desired Settlement: This company robbed me and their only explanation was I signed off on the work. I was lied to over and over again. I want the door that was supposed to be under warranty fixed, I want reimbursed for the tow and diagnostic and I want reimbursed for all of the work that wasn't needed back in October that they charged me $2884.00 for.

We took our car to this shop several times. First they ruined a brand new tire because they put a plug in it instead of a patch. Now, when we took our car to get the oil changed somewhere else, we found out that when it was last changed at American Five Star, they broke the drain plug. So now, the drain plug can't be removed for the new shop to change the oil. I would not reccomend this shop to anyone-they don't know what they are doing! We are taking it back there for them to fix the damage, and if they will not do so, I will file a complaint.

We were traveling in Arizona with our 5th Wheel and Ford F-250 truck. The transfer case went out on our truck while we were on the 101 Freeway heading to Mesa from Scottsdale. We asked Allstate road service to tow us to American Five Star Transmission. We received quick, good repair service from the owner, Eric Ali. Kathy, in the office was great with communication and we will be able to stay on schedule with our trip. We can give Five Star a "10" based on this experience.
