The initial sidewalk was damaged because the protective covering had blown off. Our contract states that we do not guarantee concrete from cracking and/or surface damage from any cause. Also there is a disclaimer for incidental...

and/or consequential damages. Even so, Mr. [redacted] states  he had 3 choices to remedy the work and he choose to have the  the concrete resurfaced. I have talked with our construction manager and he said that painting the sidewalk was never offered, and regarding being ignored; claims Mr. [redacted] did not always respond to his calls. Mr [redacted] was charged $1,122.36 for the original sidewalk, which he paid. American paid $700 to have the concrete resurfaced. We are willing to refund Mr. [redacted] the difference. $422.36. Thank you for your concern in this matter.

American built a garage for us about 10 years ago. We have had to replace all of the shingles because they were not installed properly. The trusses were not braced properly and collapsed. Have had almost all of the siding replaced or taken off and properly installed. Terrible customer service from them. We had to pay for all of the rework.

Review: We had concrete work done by American Garage Builders that was scratched up badly because they did not properly secure the curing blanket. The wind blew the rocks they used across the concrete walk and scratched it. This same walk began flaking and crumbling after it had cured. The company asked us if we wanted a refund on that portion or to have the area redone. We needed it to be redone. They then came back and asked if they could resurface the area instead. Not wanting to make them rip it out if it was fixable with the resurfacing process, we said yes. Now, the new surface is flaking off. The old scratches are coming through and a corner is crumbling off. They offered to paint the walk. To us, this is not a valid solution. Now they are ignoring us.Desired Settlement: We want the walk replaced or to be reimbursed for what it would cost to have another company come out and do it.

I purchased a garage package in April 2014. Construction went well until the first rain from the north after completion. The north east service door leaked severely. The contractor has been to my site several times and even replaced the door in October 2014, but rain still pours in thru the threshold with a hard rain. The north west door faces the same direction and does not leak. Now some vinyl siding has come out of the J channel at the gable end, as well, and American Garage Builders is not responding to my emails.

I signed a contract with American Garage Builders in April to build a one-car garage. At the time, the rep told me the garage would be complete before June. It's almost August and I'm still waiting for them to install the garage door window I ordered. While the garage is well-constructed and looks good the customer service throughout this 4-month process has been atrocious. Rep is unresponsive (except to collect money), unorganized (I had to go through the whole order several times in these months because orders are filled out in pencil/paper and kept in a messy pile of other orders), deceitful (During the construction delay, I was told that construction order was sent but he'd forgotten for when, then when I called later in the week I was told it was filed that day. Apparently he'd forgotten he told me he already sent the order). Now, with the window delay the main office has promised they'd "chew him out" for not getting back to me after they promised he'd call me and didn't. I still haven't heard from him.
The VERY LEAST they could have offered after all of this delay, failed communication, disorganization, and deceitfulness, is to take off the price of the garage door window panel ($100). That would amount to a ONE percent discount on the overall cost of the garage. Instead they've charged me for it, failed to deliver or install it, and haven't even bothered communicating their intention to do so. That's why their customer service is more than deserving of this negative review.

They have built a quality building for the most part. I have had to make two service calls to have the over head door fixed in 3 months. The Project manager was only concerned in getting his money and not being on the job to supervise like he promised and he has also stated that "warranty work is not his problem" and I had to call his superiors to make any progress in that area.

Otherwise, overall the workmanship is good quality work.

Had a Garage built in November and a window cracked over the winter. Contacted American Garage Builders and they said they would order a replacement but it would be easier if I paid cash. The replacement came in and it was the wrong size. I returned it and brought in all of the paper work and they were confused about the size of the window they installed. I came back with the sash so they could verify the size. They asked to keep the sash so they could get a replacement and I never heard from them again. After several unreturned calls over the last year I gave up. I have been without a window for over a year and will have to have one custom made to replace it.
