Revdex.com Complaint# *** American General Contracting LLC *** * ***
Dear Revdex.com I was very saddened to receive an email, that my cousin *** *** has filed a complaint with the Revdex.com regarding her home. To receive this after she previously filed a complaint with the Attorney
General’s office and a claim with L&I (also filed on 10/16/17) is like rubbing salt in a woundHere is some history on *** and the home. Her husband committed *** in the home located at *** *** *** ** ***. He committed *** *** *** *** *** ** *** *** ***. This occurred July 23rd, 2015. At that time, *** moved into a hotel with her remaining children. In August she officially began a new relationship with a man in CA and by November she moved to CA to be with her new manShe married this new man in May 2016. She abandoned the home and contacted me to help her out in March 2016, as a family member, after another contractor told her it would take a year to complete the things she wanted done (without seeing the home) and they were not asking her what materials she wanted to use. As a favor to my cousin I agreed to do the work for her and sent her prices based on Home Depot’s costs after they went to the home. This occurred in April 2016. Unfortunately, due to the home being in such disrepair and abandoned for months, *** was required to contract with another company due to mold issues when I nearly fell through the master bath floor in July 2016. The discovery of mold caused work on the home to be stopped until the mold could be remediated by a certified company. The mold was the cause of kitchen cabinets being removedReplacing those cabinets is not part of the work to be done and *** has yet to purchase new cabinets. Actually, she asked my mom (her Aunt) to buy them and she would need to pay her back, my mom did not agree to this. Removal of the carpets and linoleum were at ***’s request (not part of agreed items to be done), however it needed to be done to install the new flooring she wanted throughout the home. Once the mold was remediated work could commence on the home. When work restarted on the home, more mold was discovered and work needed to cease again. Again, the same certified company had to be hired to remediate the newly discovered mold. After the second round of mold remediation, work could begin again April 2017. The mold company at the time also notified *** about other issues with the home - roof, gutters and hot water tank that are in dire need of repairAll agreed upon supplies have been purchased, however *** will need to contract a certified plumber to have toilets set, appliances and sinks hooked up. Since I have been fined for not being a certified plumber (thought it was okay since it was a family job, but now know it is not okay), due to ***’s complaint with L&IAt the end September 2017, *** contacted my mother (***’s Aunt) requesting work be completed by December *** has only been back twice since leaving WA, the last time being in August On October 7th, my mom & ***’s other Aunts went to the home to do some touch up, trim paint & painting of doors, as much of the painting was completed already. They discovered a broken window in one of the bedrooms. They did their best to secure the home. *** was notified of the broken windowTo date, *** has not had the window fixed. With the rainy, cold weather upon us, it will cause damage to the painting that is complete and damage the flooring to be installed. In fact, the only reason *** has complained to the Revdex.com, Attorney General’s office and L&I, is because my mom refused to travel from Rochester to Shelton to take care of and pay for the replacement of the window. There is a lockbox on the house and no need for anyone to “meet” the window peopleMy mom is DONE doing/paying for extra stuff for ***. Only the items specified in the email and in the complaint have been purchased nothing more. I have pictures of the current state of the rest of the home. If I could send you pictures you would see by the pictures that the home will not be ready to be a “rental” until it is cleaned up and other repairs done. Her claim “she is losing money” is a falsehood due to the fact that even if the interior work was finished, the home is still uninhabitable as a rental. Given *** does not plan to come back to WA until March/April 2018, she will not be able to attempt to make it a “rental” until thenIt is a sad state when you agree to do things for a family member, only to discover they are only looking to ruin your reputation and seek financial gain for themselves
