American Glass Company

This business is run by a very cruel *** lady and her *** husbandThe warehouse is not up to OSHA standards and is rarely cleanedThey take days to cut a single piece of x glassThere is never anyone at the front desk to take your order a majority of the timeThere credit card machine is one of those old slide cards which made me extremely nervousIf there is a mistake on there end in pricing they will take that slip and run your card again which I am sure is against the lawOh! On the morning of June 6th (Friday), I went to the [redacted] office of American Glass Company to have a glass top made for a coffee table that I bought in China. When I asked [redacted] (whom I assumed was the owner) about the cost, he said that he would have to first measure the table. He went outside to retrieve the table from my SUV, then he took it into his workshop and measured it. He said that since the table needed an oval piece of glass, he would have to first trace out the cutting on paper. He said that since the table's edges were not entirely smooth, he had to warn me that the cutting would not be perfect. At that point, I ignored 4 clear clues (1) his customer service skills were not up to par (2) he quickly figured out that it would cost me $161.00 (3) I had to leave my expensive coffee table with him in his not-so-tidy workshop and (4) he admitted that the work would not be "perfect".

[redacted] said that he could not work on the table until later that evening, but he would call me when it was completed. I asked him if he needed extra time, I could pick it up the next day (Saturday). The lady in the office with [redacted] said that he did not work on Saturday, but she did.

There was no call on Friday. I called [redacted] on Saturday around noon and I got his answering service. The service told me that the office was closed and won't be open until Monday.

On Sunday night, I had to fly to Washington DC, so I called from from DC. [redacted] said that he was working on it, but he would call me as soon as he was finished. There was no call. On Tuesday I called [redacted] again. He said that he "was just about to call me" and said that the table was ready. Since I was in DC (and I still am as I write this), my wife went to pick up the table. That evening on Wednesday June 10th when I called my wife to ask about the table, she said that [redacted] was extremely rude to her, but more importantly, the job was done poorly. The glass was cut so badly that it does not fit the space properly and that the table was covered in dust. [redacted] did not even clean the table before returning it to us. The biggest disappointment though is that [redacted] marked our expensive coffee table with some kind of permanent marker. I know my hard-earned $161.00 is lost forever, and now I have to find a professional to have the marker removed from the table and a new piece of glass cut for the table.

Before selecting American Glass Company, I saw that it had an A+ rating from Revdex.com. This lead me to believe that I was selecting the right company. Something needs to be done about this company before any more Americans waste their hard-earned money by using this company.
