I was very pleased with my new unit from American

I recently moved into a new subdivision and was told to call them if I had an emergencyI have a unit that is less than days old on a new construction homeAfter calling the emergency line three times a gentlemen the finally came out and brought his kid only to tell me he disconnected the unit and someone would have to come out the next dayI called at am when they opened and was told it would be 12-2pm before someone could come outI went over with no AC in August and it was almost degrees in my houseThe people I interacted with on the phone and in person were less than understanding and rudeIf my warranty was not based on me using them for service I would never call them againThis has been the worst customer service I have ever gotten and no one seemed to care about me as the customer

Contractor was to update all plumbing and electrical and did not apparently to this as requestedInitially praised work ofcorse until it became more apparent he did not complete work requested...there were many things not completed and not realized until laterWhen questioned was belittled and bullied.Recinded gift certificate by the way when realized how much he has cost me to fix his workObviously no longer pleased with his workWas pleased until it started to unfold...like day one when all the closet doors fell off.Gift certificate was reminded when realized did not complete workHe believes because we moved into the home in September in January he should not be responsible for his work any longer despite being paid over $110,plus to remodel our homeAs a contractor he is still responsible and was negligentBlatantly did not complete work requested and agreed to.-did not upgrade all plumbing as apparent by pipe breaksrepair and $Having home electrical checked for safety 1/15/completed.-did not insulate house-you as NO insulation in many walls or attic space Rput in attic *** $15002/13/17-thermostat improperly wired requiring service call $*** home services-Tile repaired 2/15/17.-I expect him to pay a minimum of 1/the cost of damages $5,and am considering motions to recover full costs due to his behavior towards wife calls and screams at me, ingratiating behavior and names , bullying seniors behaviors.Sincerely *** ***-gutter continued to leak and were repaired 2/15/by contractor Mike M***,** *** $

The Contractor completed all contractual work to great satisfaction of the Client.  Indeed , the Client was grateful and appreciative of all the work performed and even gave the Contractor a $250 e-gift card to Maestro’s on September 13, 2016.  Over four months later, the Client...

experienced a leak in an underground water line in the middle of the living room under the concrete slab.  The Contractor was not hired to replace all underground water lines as they were not broken.  As such, it was not part of the contract. This was an unfortunate event, but it was not foreseeable nor was it the Contractor’s fault.  Upon viewing the area, the Contractor gave a rough estimate to replace the broken underground water line and the Client became incensed and insisted it was the Contractor’s responsibility. The Client demanded  a “much better price,” or the “next step is legal action” and she has “got lawyers” and that “You got issues as a contractor should you not look at your behavior.”  Contractor felt strong-armed by threats and baffled by the accusations about subcontractors, insulation, permits, etc.  Note- Contractor previously stated he would touch up the lines in the drywall that appeared after settling, as is frequently the case, and is willing to offer $450 for the client to hire another contractor to do this work. Two emails will be forwarded to you from client concerning this matter. Thank you for your consideration. Regis B[redacted]

I am writing in response to the letter we had received and the complaint made against American Heating and Cooling.
12pt; letter-spacing: -0.35pt;">To respond to the issue . To the comment he had made about wanting the $79.95 service call, we do not have a service call at that price. We have a clean and check on a heat pump at that price. However, Mr. [redacted] was having a problem with his heat pump when he had called in. The complaint about his unit was that it was low on Freon and that it does this every year. If the work had been done by a good contractor the first year the problem would have been taken care of. The minimum cost for that would have been $84.00 ($39.00 trip charge and $45.00 diagnostic fee). This is if they do not decide to go with a repair. However, if they do decide to go with the repair, we waive the diagnostic fee and then it would be the cost of the repair and the trip charge. We are not a time and material based company, we are flat rate. Enclosed you will find a copy of the original invoice and the work that was done to try to solve the issue with the heat pump. Also a comment was made by Mr. [redacted] to our Service Tech to the fact that four years ago he had called us out to give him an estimate for a new heat pump and that we were $2000.00 to $3000.00 higher than the other company that he had contacted. We were not sure if that was the case, why he called us out to check out his heat pump. According to our Service Tech he was trying to save him the cost of a new unit. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Murrell D. L[redacted]

whose work we do. I think this more someone who could not afford to pay and was looking for something for nothing.

March 3rd, 2017 To: [redacted], Revdex.com From: Regis B[redacted], PR Home Concepts, Inc. Re: ID#[redacted] Contractor addresses the Clients assertions as follows: 1.         Client states that “Contractor was to update all plumbing and electrical and did not apparently…” As per attached contract, located at paragraph 3 of page 1, Contractor will: “Provide labor and materials for saw cutting concrete as needed for new configurations for project - (includes saw cutting and concrete pour back with concrete for new drain line and water supply lines locations for master bathroom and downstairs bathroom configurations).” As per attached contract, located at the top of page 2 of 7, Contractor will: “Provide labor and materials for plumbing adjustments as needed for project - (includes labor and materials to install kitchen sink, faucet, garbage disposal.  We will install a new refrigerator water box in the kitchen as well.  We will also install shower valve with trim, vanity sink with faucet, and toilet for the master bathroom, downstairs bathroom, and upstairs bathroom.  We will provide drain line and water supply re-locations, and all new water supply hoses and water shut off valves as needed for new configurations.  We will re-configure the current water heaters at the laundry room and under the kitchen cabinetry to create 1 water heater in the laundry room if possible.  We will install new washing machine water box at laundry room.  We will create a new sink location in the laundry room, and install a new sink and faucet as well.  We will provide and install a new main gate valve at exterior).” As set forth in the previous response by Contractor, months after client moved in, the Client experienced a leak in an underground water line in the middle of the living room under the concrete slab.  The Contractor was not hired to replace all underground water lines as they were not broken.  As such, it was not part of the contract. This was an unfortunate event, but it was not foreseeable nor was it the Contractor’s fault. Copper plumbing supply lines can last a very long time.  Contractor feels strongly that urging a Client to replace something that is not broken and spending money while it is not necessary, is price gouging and Contractor will not do it.   Upon viewing the area, the Contractor gave a rough estimate to replace the broken underground water line and the Client became incensed and insisted it was the Contractor’s responsibility. The Client’s response mentions that the repairs cost $7883.10.  This is a very large amount of money to replace a broken pipe.     2.         Client alleges that “when questioned was belittled and bullied”  and that his “behavior” and “wife calls and screams at me,” along with “ingratiating behavior and names,” Contractor and partner/wife have always maintained a professional  attitude towards Client and in fact, pride themselves on Client satisfaction.  As evidenced by the prior email and gift certificate for the amount of $250.00 to Maestros.  Contractor is baffled by these allegations but would like to extend an apology to Client if she was offended by a casual “dear,” or such.  Please excuse any colloquial diction the Contractor used and Contractor will endeavor to keep conversations and addresses on a formal note.    3.         Client asserts that “…day one when all the closet doors fell off.” Contractor replaced three sets of bypass closet doors in the home.  Contractor is aware of only one door of one of the sets that came off of its track when the Client alerted him.  Contractor promptly sent a worker to readjust the door and secure the tract.  Contractor apologizes for the inconvenience.    4.         Client asserts that Contractor “did not insulate house…”  As per paragraph 7 on page 1 of 7, Contractor will “Provide labor and materials to install insulation in the ceiling and wall common with the Garage in the Laundry room.” This was in reference to a specific area on the first floor that Contractor needed to remove drywall.  In doing so, Contractor did indeed insert insulation in the wall and ceiling at that location.  There are actually two ceilings in the two story home.  Insulation in the first floor flat portion of the ceiling would have required the removal of all ceiling drywall and replacement/tape/retexturing/repainting, a considerable expense.  Contractor never was contracted to insulate this ceiling nor the 2nd story ceiling.  Contractor is uncertain to which ceiling the Client is referring, but Contractor was only contracted to provide insulation to that area where the removal of drywall was necessitated by the configuration of the remodel.   5.         Client asserts that “…thermostat was improperly wired requiring service call $150 Isley’s home service.   Contractor is unaware of any problems in the thermostat as it was working upon installation.  However, in the interest of resolution, hereby offers $150 reimbursement for the service call.   6.         Client asserts that “tile repaired 2/15/17.” Contractor is unaware of any tile that needed repair and wonders why this was not brought up previously.   7.         Client asserts that “gutter continued to leak…” Contractor did repair a leak in the gutter but advised Client of poor condition of gutters.  Contractor was not contracted to replace/repair all gutters.               In Conclusion, Contractor wishes to resolve this issue and would appreciate any input that the Revdex.com would provide.  Contractor prides himself on his work.  Contractor has been a member of Revdex.com since 2009 and is anxious for a resolution to this first and only complaint.
