American Heritage of Invention & Technology Reviews (5)

Review: On 8/28/12 I submitted a request and payment of $24.95 for a subscription to American Heritage magazine. I never received an issue. I contacted them via e-mail on 1/2/13 and was told they were in the process of converting to a non profit and I would be a charter member of the new group. I still have not received a magazine or update.Desired Settlement: refund

Review: The last issue of American Heritage's Invention & Technology (I&T) published was Winter 2011, Volume 25, Number 4. At the time the last issue was published we has a subscription with I&T through fall 2011 that was purchased in November 2010. In November 2010 we also purchased a gift subscription for $12.00, but I am not sure of the end date of that subscription. When we did not receive the Spring and Summer 2011 issues, we contacted I&T regarding the problem, and we were told they magazine was in the process of preparing to publish a Spring/Summer issue. Based on the information we received from I&T in 2011, we purchased additional personal and gift subscriptions in September 2011. However, I&T did not fulfill any of these subscriptions.

The last contact from I&T is an e-mail dated 7-8-2013 shown below:

My last attempts to contact I&T by e-mail on July 9-10, 2014, were returned as undeliverable. Attempts to contact I&T by phone indicated the phone numbers were no longer in service.Desired Settlement: Refund subscription

Review: We have had a subscription to American Heritage Magazine for many years. In early 2012, we noticed that issues were not being delivered quarterly as published. As the subscription was purchased though a third party magazine vendor, we were not able to resolve the issue easily with American Heritgae. As we were keen on receiving the magazine, we opted to purchase a new two year subscription for $29.95 directly from American Heritage Publishing and did so in September 2012. We have not received any issues and the phone number for Customer Subscription Services (listed online and in the magazine) has been disconnected and the link on the American Heritage web page for customer service is inactive. American Heritage never contact subscribers regarding the issue.....nor did they put a notice on their website regarding their difficulties in meeting their publication responsibilities They merely took their subscribers money and disappeared from the radar screen.Desired Settlement: Would like to receive a refund of $29.95 for the American Heritage magazine subscription which was never provided, and see the company issue a statement regarding the magazine's closure.......or delay in publication....on their website www.americanheritage.com

Review: I paid $49.95 by check on 2/16/2011 for a 3-year subscription to American Heritage Invention & Technology magazine, a quarterly magazine. The company issued its last issue in late 2011, and I have never been refunded for the other issues I paid for. They now have a website asking for donations to eventually offer an online version, but with no promise that the site will ever exist. The Revdex.com rates the company an F. I would like to join other subscribers in complaints against this company.Desired Settlement: Immediate apology and refund. The company should account to someone for the funds it has collected and continues to solicit but without providing any product.

Review: renewed our subscription to American Heritage 9/29/10 having an expiration date of Jan 1, 2011, for 4 years with a new expiration date of January, 2015. The last issue rec'd is the Summer 2012. Emails to customer service and a call to the [redacted] listed in their magazine and online receive no response.Desired Settlement: I would like for issues since the summer , 2012 to be sent and an indication that customer service is still active. If this is not possible, then refund the subscription. Thanks.
