American Honda Finance Corporation Reviews (11)

After years of on time payments, over three lease periods, I as an executor of my husband's estate attempted to buy out his final lease The title still has not been submitted to the state of Ohio after weeksand a half after the check was deposited by Honda Financial I have dealt with approximately five different Honda employees in various states and departments...several of which gave me misleading and incorrect information necessitating me to contact two state titling bureaus to correctly (and legally) fill out the forms I returned all documentation to Honda Financial on the day I received it I have been asked to resubmit forms after Honda told me they were shredded and lost because I had sent them to the incorrect location All forms were sent to location specified by Honda These include Philadelphia, PA, Irving ,TX and California The customer service at Honda is abysmalIt consists of various company departments located in various states Each department posts to a file that is supposedly updated by each department No one is in charge of verifying anything is accomplished Action (other than cashing the payoff check) was not taken by Honda unless I personally called the appropriate department to determine the status of my title It is an infuriating and ongoing process to date

HFS withdrew an unauthorized double payment from my bank account. This has put my account in overdraft status and caused checks written to pay other bills to bounce. The customer service reps at the 800 phone number are hostile liars. They are very rude and condescending. The rep told me she has worked for HFS for yrs and she is only aware of this happening to 2 other people as I am reading a national news story stating that they have done this to tens of thousands of their customers today alone. I then received an alert from BBB that honda finance lost a multi million dollar class action lawsuit this morning. Thats quite a coincidence.

I called Honda finance today and spoke with JohnI called to notify them of a late payment and to see if they can work with me on thatJohn's response " your already late so you already look really badMaybe you need to get your st together and call back by 8pm tonite with the money" !?!?!??! I was outraged and could not believe how disrespectful , rude and evil this man was!! He even asked me how I felt about myselfI broke down into tears after that phone call and my husband is now trying to reach John's supervisor

I am a co signer on a car, never received any thing from them, then while getting anew car I found three delayed payment, I called then and the customer service was rude and refused to help at the end she is like ok I may make a case but not garentee, she took my new adress and next day she said we wont remove anythiing
despite I never received anythign from them

Customer service is very rude with nasty commentsI made several calls to resolve a billing issue, even talked to a supervisor who didn't seem to care Ridiculous!!!

I had been paying $extra a month to have gap insurance on my Honda CivicMy loan was through Honda financial & my gap was through Honda careMy account with Honda was flawlessAll my payments were always on timeMy car got totaled due to another driver rear ending meThe driver happened to not notice the line of stopped cars at the red light he was approaching & plowed into the back of meMy insurance company, USAA, was amazing and sent the loan company a check immediatelyHonda financial took weeks to confirm payment where as USAA was already showing it confirmedAfter the the settlement I still had a 3k left over gapI proceeded through the gap claim processSince I started my gap claim I have had to make car payments & am about to have to make a 3rdThat's right, it's taking months to process my claim & their not even finishedBetween my payments & warranty refunds the gap has lowered to 2kI have knocked a grand off of what Honda gap should be paying forHonda Gap has also been adament about stating to me that it is not a garuntee they will cover the entire gapI have paid over 3k in gap payments & 2k is a drop in a bucket for a company as big as Honda however they can't garuntee they will pay my whole gap? Their has been constant battle & lack of communicationEven though Honda financial & Honda gap are both Honda they will not inner department anythingIf you fax them a document the fax sits in a que for hours before being assigned to your accountThey do not permit you to email them documents you must fax or physically mail themAny updates I have received about my claim has been through me calling and badgering the companyI have not received one phone call, email, or letter in the mail in reference to my claimI was actually told by a representative in the beginning of my claim process that though they have my phone number and mailing address I never thought to offer them my email address therefore it was my fault I had received no feed backSince then they have received all of my contact information yet they still don't initiate contactI have called the company about twice a week for the past and a half monthsI am getting ready to make a 3rd payment on my car since no longer owning itI only continue to make these payments out of fear that if my account shows one late payment or discrepancy the gap company will refuse to pay the full gap amountHonda is known for making reliable cars maybe they should try making reliable serviceI will never rely on Honda ever again

Web site is super slow, no option to talk to customer serviceDidn't get electronic statement via email

When my car loan ended, Honda failed to deliver a lean release by mail. No one called to check or follow up. When I called to ask about it, they simply referred me to www.mytitlesupport.com to fill out a form, where I would pay $23 to submit the form. Honda owes it to its customers to serve them properly, without forcing them to pay fees when it is upon them to deliver the lien release.

After 9 years of on time payments, over three lease periods, I as an executor of my husband's estate attempted to buy out his final lease. The title still has not been submitted to the state of Ohio after 8 weeks...7 and a half after the check was deposited by Honda Financial. I have dealt with approximately five different Honda employees in various states and departments...several of which gave me misleading and incorrect information necessitating me to contact two state titling bureaus to correctly (and legally) fill out the forms. I returned all documentation to Honda Financial on the day I received it. I have been asked to resubmit forms after Honda told me they were shredded and lost because I had sent them to the incorrect location. All forms were sent to location specified by Honda. These include Philadelphia, PA, Irving ,TX and California.
The customer service at Honda is abysmal. It consists of various company departments located in various states. Each department posts to a file that is supposedly updated by each department. No one is in charge of verifying anything is accomplished. Action (other than cashing the payoff check) was not taken by Honda unless I personally called the appropriate department to determine the status of my title. It is an infuriating and ongoing process to date.
