I hired American Housekeeping to do a Move-out cleaning. Hired two girls for three hours. Minimal cleaning was accomplished in that time span.American Housekeeping was hired to clean an empty home for a move-out cleaning, which was to include: bathrooms, walls, baseboards, cupboards, drawers, cabinets, refrigerator, oven, stove top, windows, doors, around door handles, vacuum, and etc.The two ladies arrived and the "head" of the two asked me to show them the house and what needed to be done. She claimed that it wasn't too bad. I let them do their thing while I went outside to finish up some yard work. The door was open and I could hear the "head" complain about me and how I didn't do "this and that." Several of the things I didn't know that I was supposed to do and if I was supposed to do. This was my first experience with hiring a cleaning company. I had also handed the check of payment over as requested by their supervisor at the main office in [redacted]. I had to run to something for my daughter. When I returned they were gone. I went in to check how they did.The Master bathroom shower had more soap on it than when I had left it. None of the cupboards were wiped down, as well as doors, walls, half the base boards. The windows still had little hand prints on them. I called the office and spoke to the supervisor and asked what all was supposed to be accomplished and she confirmed that the previous things were. She met me a couple hours later and her and I gave everything another good hour to get things done. She kept saying that this house shouldn't have taken more than three hours and that theses things should have been done in the time I paid for them. We cleaned for an hour, then she had to leave. I was there a half hour longer and came back the next day for two more hours to get the house clean. Desired SettlementI would like a partial refund for the cleaning that I had to do following hiring two girls to clean for three hours which should have covered everything in the house. I was charged $88/hour for three hours. I would like half back as I still had to come back and finish what should have been completed by two girls in three hours.Business Response I am extremely sorry that [redacted]'s home was not not cleaned to her satisfaction. It is a rare occurrence indeed as we celebrate 25 years in business this year. I certainly don't mind refunding [redacted] back $132.00. It will be sent out today.Thank you

After a house inspection estimate for cleaning & discussing what needed to be done, my house was not cleaned as contracted. On 1/15/2016, 2 workers arrived at my house. Prior service included 3-4 workers at the same price for the same duties. Cleaning details were pointed out to the estimator during a home visit. A discounted price was quoted for $129.00 which was paid by check on 1/15/2016. The workers indicated as they were ready to leave that they only do enough work specified in the time allotted for each cleaning. I spoke to the estimator on the phone as the cleaners waited. I informed the estimator that 1) I was not informed the cleaners would only do as much as they could in the allotted time, 2) The blinds were never cleaned, top of the kitchen cabinets, window sills/shelves, door & window top frames, front of oven, guest bathroom tub/flooring as discussed with the estimator prior to agreeing to use their service. The estimator advised me I only signed up for a basic cleaning for 1 hr. & 45 min. I did not realize only 2 workers would be sent out and only 1/2 the job would be completed. I informed the estimator that what was discussed prior to accepting their service and what cleaning needed to be accomplished and the estimator agreed to accept all the cleaning needed at the $129.00 discount. Then, the estimator advised me if I wanted the rest of the cleaning done, I would have to pay a total of $149.00 at the regular price... ?? What, then, was the purpose of the discounted price. ?? To say the least, I am very disappointed at a company that would say anything to get business and not follow through. I would like to have the cleaners return to complete the job at no further costs and/or refund 50% of the price paid. I have been informed that their work is guaranteed if not satisfied with the cleaning and, if necessary, a return visit would be warranted to my satisfaction but this was not offered when I brought this issue to the attention of the estimator, [redacted] Desired SettlementEither finish the initial, agreed upon, cleaning job and/or refund the price at 50%.Business Response This customer has been with us on and off for 5yrs, our policies have remained the same for 26 years. This is a simple case of the customer wanting more than she was willing to spend for housecleaning. On the agreement that she signed, she declined our double clean and agreed that it would take multiple cleanings to get to all surfaces.Hence- she was reminded more than once, that the team could only stay for a certain amount of time, equal to the amount of money that she wanted to spend. We could not stay in business as long as we have, by misleading customers. As the customer suggested, I will send a half refund today, but we will not be returning to the home, as the customer declined the recommended Double clean initially.Thank youConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)FOR THE RECORD: I accept the offer, however, I would just want to comment that the discounted, so called rate, would have included a regular cleaning with a completed job. At one point, the company advised me to pay full price for a regular cleaning allowing more time to clean. Again, where does the discount come in & applied ?? Cleaning basic bathrooms & blinds, etc...is not a deep cleaning issue. Deep cleaning, as I was advised, included extra cleaning requested beyond a regular cleaning. The regular cleaning was not completed in my case and I was not told only 2 people would arrive to clean when in the past it was always 3 minimum people. And...I was not told the cleaning time would be limited due to the discount. That's the truth of the matter.

We hired American Housekeeping to clean our house for a move out. We were told by the estimator who came out and physically walked the house that they would wipe down cabinets, clean appliances such as the oven/stove, microwave, oven etc; wipe down baseboards, blinds and so forth for a deep clean. We were told the entire job could be done in 2 hours. On the day of our appointment 11/20/14 they were almost a half hour late without calling or notifying us. They were supposed to clean for the 2 hours and we had done a light cleaning before so they could focus on the deep clean. When I went to the house that evening the only items that has been cleaned were the inside of the refrigerator and the microwave in addition to vacuuming. What was left was oven cleaner residue all over the inside of the oven, dirt all over the floor, blinds and vaseboards were not wiped, there was hair in the bottom of the master bathroom shower, needless to say it was not clean. I called American Housekeeping and asked for a phone call from the manger the next morning. I was not contacted at all so [redacted], (my significant other) called and let [redacted] know what was going on. Later that day, 11/21/14 the two ladies and those supervisor came out and even she stated the job that had been done was unacceptable. They spent about half an hour more at the house spot cleaning. It was still not clean as of Saturday 11/22/14 and I was told they do not work weekends nor did anyone answer the phone when I called Saturday morning around 10am. I spent 6 hours myself wiping baseboards, cabinets, blinds, cleaning the outside of the dishwasher and counter tops today. I feel like this was really poor service and I would like it addressed.Product_Or_Service: Housekeeping service Desired SettlementI would like a partial refund. I don't object to paying something since they did come out but at the same time this was a substandard job even after a recall. I'm very disappointed in the service I recieved.Business Response My apologies that [redacted] was not satisfied with the job, even after the reclean. [redacted] gave a list of 6 specific items to reclean, those were handled in 30 minutes by the team. [redacted] also approved of the work before the team left and then again later when he called for a receipt was asked about the job and he said it was fine. The baseboards, cabinets, blinds and dishwasher that [redacted] addressed in her complaint, were never conveyed to us as needing to be redone.I will refund [redacted] $88.00, half of the fee paid.
