I would like to file a complaint about American Icon, a cabinet maker located in Encino, CA. I hired American Icon to make some kitchen and office cabinets for my new house in August 2019. . *** presented his company as the sole rep. for *** (a reputable cabinet maker) and stated that *** has a sale which ends in 5 days. He was in our house only once and said that he will send a drawing for approval after we he made the second measurement. We agreed and paid him about $*** in August and I selected the color and style for the cabinets. He never returned for measurement and never sent us a drawing for approval. I kept calling and asking for the update and timelines. Each time he said that he has ordered the cabinets. At the end of September, I got mad at his non-sense answers and asked for money. He did not refund me and said that he has ordered the cabinets. Again, after many calls, finally in early October he brought a few boxes (he says 54 but it is 34 boxes). Upon arrival, he said that the installers (two guys) will install the cabinets today and he has to pay them. So, I paid $*** on that day. Most cabinets were wrong. His guys worked only 3 hours and said that the boxes are wrong and had to be resized. The installers came two more days and each day worked 3 hours/day. Again, nothing happened till mid-November. So, my husband called the credit card company and filed a complaint. He asked them to withdraw the money from his account for one of the cards. Soon after he realized it, he panicked, called us and showed up with a couple of boxes and begged to release the money. My husband released the money assuming he will finish the work. My husband re-measured the cabinets and sent him a computer made drawings to work. But he was in Paris and nothing happened. He said that we will have everything by the end of Dec. then said mid-January. He keeps lying. We have all emails and text messages to prove that he is playing and will not deliver the job.

Refund We have paid him $*** to date. Today is January 30, 2020 and I still don't have a cabinet. We have paid a lot of interests on the money that we barrowed from the credit cards. Also, my new house (we moved in Jan. 2018) is damaged there are dents on walls, doors, handrails; baseboards are damage; hardwood floors are scratched and paints are scratched from walls and ceilings. I paid a lot of money to upgrade this house. We had enough with this guy and his company. We want our money back.
