This is in response to the above
referenced complaint, dated September 21, 2017.   In the complaint you indicate [redacted]
expressed concerns with the communication and deductible amount in the above
referenced claim. We strive to keep our customers satisfied and apologize that
[redacted] found our service inadequate. 
 
On November
3, 2016, [redacted] was issued payment in the amount of $1035.34 for the
damage to her 2006 [redacted]. This was based on the repair estimate of
$1535.34, less her $500.00 collision deductible.
 
On
September 22, 2017, an additional payment was issued to [redacted] for
$250.00, for her UMPD deductible. The adjuster contacted [redacted] on
September 22, 2017, September 26, 2017, September 27, 2017 and September 28,
2017 and left a message with the status. In addition, the adjuster explained
the supplemental repair process in the messages.

Please allow this letter to serve as a response to the above referenced complaint.
Although our investigation revealed that our...

insured was the proximate cause of the accident, there are multiple property damage claims being presented against the policy. The subject policy provides $5,000.00 per-accident of property damage coverage. The total of all the damages is well in excess of the policy, and there is still one demand which has not been submitted yet.
Because the total damages are in excess of the policy, American independent will not be able to offer any claimant the full amount of their damages. Rather, we will make offers based on a pro-rata division of the policy limits based on the proportion of each claimant's damages in relation to the total amount of damages.
Our representative recently spoke with the insurance carrier handling the outstanding property damage claim, and they have informed us that their demand is not yet finalized. Once we receive the final demand, the available policy limits will be pro-rated, and we will promptly make offers to resolve all the pending property damage claims, including [redacted]s.
