American Leak Detection of Fort Worth Reviews (2)

On October 7, American Leak Detection was called to the residence of the customer to determine the cause of water damage in the home, per the request of the customer’s insurance companyA licensed plumber was dispatched to the home and was on-site for approximately minutes, as verified by
GPSTesting was performed and the plumber determined the water damage was caused by voids in the grout and caulk at the tub, which is documented by photos taken and sent to the insurance companyDuring testing the plumber was successfully able to re-create the leak, with water immediately surfacing in the bedroom. Due to the sheetrock being removed in multiple areas of the home prior to American Leak Detection arrival, plumber was able to inspect under the tub during the detectionPlumber inspected and tested the tub plumbing lines and there was no water present at the waste and overflow gasket or tub drain at that timeThe technician's opinions regarding short-term (sudden) or long-term (ongoing), are based on hanobservanceAmerican Leak Detection technicians are not experts in duration of events, however, the water damage in the home was believed to be long-term (on-going) damagePer customer’s statement, repairs were made four months later and in February use of the tub was resumed, a day or two after repairs were completedDuring this time, American Leak Detection is not certain if the plumbing lines were exposed, allowing the rubber gasket of the waste and overflow assembly to dry out or deteriorate. Approximately days passed with no water detected by the customerOn May 20, customer detected water, called his insurance provider and American Leak Detection returned to the home on May 25, at the request of the insurance companyAt the customer’s request, a different licensed plumber was dispatched to the homeDuring testing, the plumber was able to re-create the leakA new leak was detected and water was visible at the waste and overflow gasketIt is the professional opinion of American Leak Detection that, due to the time lapse between these two water events, a second leak is now present on the tubFurthermore, the second leak is not present on the tub drain, as the customer has statedThe leak is present only on the waste and overflow gasket, which is in use only when the tub has been overfilled and water is draining from the tub to prevent overflowAmerican Leak Detection has discussed the customer’s complaint with the insurance provider. The insurance provider concurs with the findings from both American Leak Detection plumbers, that although the leaks have occurred on the same bathtub, there have been two separate leaks present in the homeThe licensed plumbers dispatched to the home successfully re-created each leak while ruling out other causes for the water damageOur licensed plumbers work hard to provide excellent service for all our customersWhile it is unfortunate that the customer has experienced two separate water events in the home, after careful review of the findings and photos during both the October detection and the May detection, we support the findings of both plumbersTwo separate leaks occurred within a seven month span of time

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Regards,*** ***Although I agree the tub was not used in months leading up to the repairs in February the assumptions that some how a gasket just started leaking after years of the house being within days of the repairs being completed and the tub started being used again in ludacrisAgain the original water was right where it was the 2nd time and the same flood plain and the exact same coverage areaIf you where to look at the photos of the original damage and the damage that happened on May 20th it is nearly identicalThe odds of different leaks causing the exact same damage in a day window is ridiculous.I was here when the first tech came out and no he did not fill the tub upI saw exactly what he did and he did not test the over flowSo how can you say that was not it when it was never tested? Obviously the plumber was not able to re-create the leak because the overflow was never tested and the plumber just assumed that some caulking leaking caused all the damage when the bath was only used and the shower was rarely used as he was told.I did have a professional plumber come out and look at the Gasket and I actually have the Gasket and pictures where submitted to USAAThe Gasket was completely deteriorated and to top it off the drain overflow pipe does not even line up flush with the tub and is seated at an angle so therefore it was not just the Gasket but the way the pipe was glue when the home was builtWhen the 2nd tech came out I told him it was the overflow causing the leak and it was never caughtThen he filled the tub up and verified that was indeed the leak. The fact that you would say my insurance company agreed with your position is completely a fabrication of factsMy insurance company is the one that said I should file a Revdex.com complaint because you where denying the liability and it was word against wordSo no my insurance company did not agree with your position. I can see the only way this will get resolved is if we have a Engineer come out and do an inspection of the slabIt is my belief that my house slants towards my daughters room slightly and that is why majority of the water was in my daughters roomIf I am correct in my assumption water from the crack in the corder would not flow towards my office at all but towards just my daughters roomBut water from the drain would flow towards her room right past the leak where your 1st tech said it was and also into my office closet since it is the closet area to the drain. If I pay an engineer to come out and submit a full report and it is determined that my house indeed slopes to my daughters room then there is no way possible the original leak caused the damage hence the main leak was not detected then I would like it agreed that American Leak Detection will accept full responsibility! We can even use a mutual Foundation Engineer that is a member of the Revdex.com!
