As you can see from the length of time that was needed to respond to the complaint, it is screaming proof that this company has no integrity or morals. I have tried working out the many many issues with them. I gave them many opportunities to make right what they have done wrong. At no point did I feel as my project was a priority. My house is still not complete. Our last meeting was on November [redacted]. Of course they were looking for more funds but no progress was being made. they brought me an invoice of monies paid on the back of another contract that they revised to benefit them, the monies they had listed I paid was approximately 6000 different from what I had paid already. Over the last few months I even had subs they hired ringing my bell looking for the reason I haven't paid American Legend. I showed them proof that the checks were paid out and cashed. As a reminder this project started in November of 2013 and had an approximate construction period of 4 months. Needless to say they have left me in a bad situation for over a year, besides my house not being finished they created 3 flood situations in my finished basement, about 4 roof leaks, an unfinished soffit which gave access to a squirrel living in my attic, 4 wrong and 1 broken window from July, property that was never graded because they didn't pay the mason, crawl space vents were never installed for the same reason, stoop was never done same reason, siding was damaged when they were repairing a roof leak. So for [redacted] to come out and list me as the problem we separated our ways is inaccurate. AMERICAN LEGEND abandoned the project.They are always blaming someone for not communicating. I am not hard to find and went above and beyond with phone calls from my end.

I waited for two weeks for a scheduled from them and on the [redacted] they gave me a schedule for 4/**/2015 - 5/*/2015.  They did not adhere to the schedule and they did not complete the work.  I still do not have my tub installed.  The front porch is still not completed the front door has not been delivered or installed. The back deck is still not completely framed out or installed.  The back door in the basement is still broken.  The kitchen door to the deck has not been delivered or installed.  The two storm doors have not been installed.  The condenser has not be delivered or installed. The stone finish has not been started.  The basement steps have not be finished and the handrails have not been installed.  The gutters have not been delivered or installed.  the repairs to the cement have not been done.  In the 7 weeks since I have filed this complaint I have had some vinyl siding fixed (it was bowing under the bay window). I have had to closet door handles installed.  A hole in the ceiling of the laundry room repaired and the a/c condenser platform installed.  what I would consider maybe two day's work for one person took almost 2 months to do.  Once again I am making daily calls and once again I am getting no real answers.

Unfortunately, communication and scheduling was difficult with this customer. After repeatedly going back and forth with many unsettled contract changes as per customers request, both parties decided it would not benefit finishing this project together. Respectfully,[redacted]

I left [redacted] a message regarding the electrical and plumbing, a/c issues in my home this morming.  So I'm not sure why he placed this update with the Revdex.com because we are no further along since the last one.   He did not return my call.  As far as him putting in a call to the electrician, [redacted] has been telling me this since I filed this complaint.  Electirican and plumber have not been to my house to address these issues.  [redacted] has been informing me of the special order door for over a month.  I have been asking for electrician and plumber since October 2013.  American Legend has conducted several walk throuh of the home and a "punch list" was given to them each time.  They were well informed of the issues that need to be addressed in my home.  I have also emailed punch lists to [redacted].  After each walk through I was promised my house would be finished in a few weeks.  I have brought the electicial and plumbing issues to [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] since October of 2013.  Maybe [redacted] recently heard of my plubing issue but I did inform and ask for plumber and electrician.   He has told me he put calls in and is waiting for them to work on the house on [redacted] and they will stop by my house. I am still waiting.  I have had numerous conversations with [redacted] regarding my electricial issues  in addition to 2 outlets that are dangerous and cannot be used they smoke and have ruined 2 vacumn cleaners, and an air purifier - I considre this and urgent issue) gfi outlets need to be installed in the kitchen - there are 3 outlets behind and located closed the the sink, there is also one more outlet that is hanging out of the wall in the main living room.  The wood floor needs to be repaired - many pieces of wood need to be replaced before it is sanded and finished and I am aware that I will be inconvenienced during this time.  I feel [redacted] should call and schedule plumber and electrician to do work in my house immeditely.  He keeps telling me he put a call in but never gets a plumber of electrician to my house to do work.  I would like to keep this complaint open for 2 weeks to give American Legend the opportunity to resolve all of my issues.  If they do not resolve my issues in 2 weeks I will then close this complaint and pursue legal action.
Every time we use the water we hear banging noises.  When I brought this to [redacted]'s attention [many times] he said there are loose pipes in the crawl space.   I have informed [redacted] of this over and over again.  Still no plumber to resolve this issue.
 
The a/c person was at the house and made adjustments to the central air.  [redacted] called to ask how it was working few days later and I told him it was much better but it was much colder in the back bedroom as compared to the front bedroom.  [redacted] said it needed an adjustment and would have the a/c person come back to the house and make this adustment.  A/C guy never came to the house to make adjustment.

There is a little over $14,000.00 owed on this job. Approximately 6% of the overall billed amount. Which should be well within their profit margin. I have been told that they used my money on other jobs and now they are waiting on these other jobs to pay them. Why should I be penalized for their bad business practices. My mortgage company is holding onto the last 25% waiting on completion. I have depleted my savings and they still are not done.

Our complaint with American Legend is far from complete.  They reported that they replaced a defective hot Walter heater which was just one issue.  [redacted]  billelo stated that he fired [redacted] and would be coning down to our house ti do an inspection and he has not done so yet.  [redacted] is also working on our replacement garage door patio door garage door opener and front entry and screen door.  He was to bring book to choose front door and has not done so yet.  Our complaint is far from settled.

[redacted] has spoken with [redacted] and told her the patio door she selected was upgraded with internal blinds and will be approximately 1-2 weeks longer due to the special order. Garage door has been measured and ordered which has also been upgraded to insulated type and will take approximately 2 more weeks. Electrician has been scheduled and will be there next week to check and fix outlets. The banging of the pipes has recently been brought to our attention and the plumber has been called and we will advise on his schedule to inspect and fix any issues as well. As discussed, due to the inconvenience of doing the wood floor they would have to leave the house so we will do that part last. We look forward to completing everything over next few weeks.

I signed a contract with American Legend to renovate my entire home, including a rear extension. Started out right, but as soon as they collected most of the money the work slowed and their attitude became worse. Terrible communication, terrible contractors. Lied to my face on several occasions. Were always asking for money before things were completed. they always had an excuses for why something was not being done or why men didn't show up.I Had to kick them off the job and hire someone else to finish. Avoid using this company them at all costs!

Review: Our home was destroyed by Sandy. We entered into contract with American Legend Contracting to repair our home. [redacted] of American Legend Contracting told us that it would take 5 months to complete the job. We signed the contract in January of 2013 and the job is still not complete. This has caused a p[redacted]lem with our mortgage company who is holding our funds until job completion. We have been paid in full since July of 2014. American Legend has conducted several walk throughs of the home to create a punch list of remaining work and each time has promised to finish the job withing a few weeks. [redacted] did a walk through in October 2013 and promised the job would be finished in a few weeks. [redacted] sent [redacted] ([redacted]) to the home in February 2014 to create another punch list and [redacted] said he would discuss with [redacted] and [redacted] and call us with the work schedule. I still have not heard from anyone at American Legend. I have placed many calls to American Legend and there is either no answer or [redacted] answers and I leave a message for them to return my call. [redacted] and [redacted] do not return my phone calls. They have not replaced my gargage door and electric opener, patios door, front door and screen door and finishing of living room and hallway hardwood floor, molding in den, painting of molding in the house, adjustment of kitchen cabinets, etc. [redacted] also boasted about how all American Legend's work is guaranteed. I have issues with pluming, hot water heater, air contitioning and electrical work. I have discussed this over and over with [redacted] and [redacted] and they do not address these issues. I do not have any contacts for the plumbing, air conditioning or heating installers and American Legend does not respond to issues with any of these units.Desired Settlement: I would like American Legend respond in a professional manner by retrurning phone calls and finish the job within the next 2 weeks. I have paid in full and it is way beyond the promised 5 months of job completion. Our mortgage company is pressuring us for a 100% job completion inspection and we need to have our funds released.

Review: Home severely damaged from Super Storm Sandy. Contracted American Legend to handle the demolition of the damages, and rebuild our home. The contract included all permits and paperwork, removal of all debris and all the repairs. We had to raise our home and American Legend was contracted to remove the old foundation and rebuild the new foundation according to our architectures specs and drawings. They needed to remove and replace all the dry wall, insulation, siding, gutters, windows, roof, all fixtures, cabinets, electrical, heating, plumbing. At this point and time I am still waiting for my home to be complete. The siding is about 98% done, the Front porch is about 90% done. The kitchen has no cabinets or appliances (even though I have the appliances delivered to the house over a year ago and paid for the cabinets a year ago. One bathroom is still waiting for the tub to be installed. The plumbing is not done in the kitchen, I have no gutters, I have a basic frame out (not properly secured) for a back deck. I am still waiting for a front door & back door to be installed (again I paid for the product in full a year ago). We are still waiting for the condenser for the A/C to be delivered and installed. There are doors that do not have door handles (interior doors). I have a broken door in the basement that is simply nailed shut waiting to be fixed. I have brickwork waiting to be done on the foundation. Then we can get to the punch list items, like the crack in the foundation, the ceiling that has already developed cracks and the drywall tape that is still showing, The fact that the circuit breaker keeps tripping because three rooms are on one circuit. The temporary stairs to basement (our only entrance at this point) that are loose and do not have a banister. the paint drips on the wood floors and tiles. I have stopped paying them because they have failed to deliver materials that were paid for last spring and because my insurance will not release anymore money until the work is completed and the Certificate of Occupancy is received. I can provide notes that I began in 6/2014 and ending 11/2014 detailing all the calls and their responses. I also have notes from a meeting I had in November with [redacted] when I was assured I was just weeks from completion. Since then I have contacted a lawyer, I do not want to file a lawsuit, but feel that they are leaving me no option.Desired Settlement: IMMEDIATELY!!! This has been over 2 1/2 years... I am done waiting, deliver my products get a full team over to my house and finish. I don't want to hear as to why it isn't getting done, just finish.

Review: Hired American legend to do an addition to my home. They were very cooperative during the planning stages. Then they got start up money and the foundation was started but never finished. Then they disappeared. 2 or 3 weeks later they start working again said they had family issues. Foundation gets finished and they start framing ( received more money) the project started in November and now it's mid May and it's just almost ready for a roof. Other houses have started on my block and they get framed and a roof in 2 weeks not American legend . I've been flooded 2 times. Workers show up when he feels like sending them. He blames architect and workers but it's not the case. I am at the end of my rope with this company and looking for help. I know he will say it was a bad winter. Which it was but the house should have been framed and water tight in December / early January like he said it would and we would have been done. Sorry for rambling on. I have pictures and a log I have been keeping if needed.

They are not trust worthy and not good for the consumer. I would highly recommend looking for a different GC.
