Dear Customer, We go by simple and fair rules at this storeYour payment is due on the same day each month and you have been a customer long enough to know when this day is, yet each month a courtesy reminder is placed in your mailbox with the late fee amount if paid after the
7th of the month nonethelessYou have been late on several occasions and received courtesy waiversPlease note that the *** is not as lenient with late payments as we areWe are not the only store to charge late fees and the only con is not paying for services rendered. You have listed a Purchase Price: $and Disputed Amount: $15.00, you are disputing money not paid as of yet

The "simple and fair rules" are complicated by the simple psychology of "Operant or Instrumental Conditioning" this business uses and it is not fooling me, or any of the other over-sight agency's that are available in California for the consumer, from the Attorney General to the Chamber of commerce and Yelp type forums I have no idea about other Mail Businesses "late fees"; but if they use this obvious "CON" to help their bottom line, let me know and I will include them in my further complaintsThis "monthly courtesy reminder" was NOT in my box as it has been each and every month prior, i.e"Operant Conditioning" sans any stimulus used in "Classical Conditioning"! In its place was a late fee notice that I have never seen before Not once before, not EVERI know a late fee reminder from a late fee bill because I have kept themProbably all of them as I sure have many in my filesOne thing you can be sure; it will cost me considerably much more to complain to these and other agencies than to pay the $15.00, and this business is keenly aware of these costs by holding the consumers mail ransom The $is not in question and this business is keenly aware of that Time stamped mail, other due dates, changing my mailing address, refund checks, the time spent in letters, etc., etc., etcwill set me back several hundred in my time alone but I do not care when a principle is involved Especially a principle involving a business that is entrusted with personal communication of U.Scitizens mailThe $fee is expected, deserved, and available The $fee is not expected under the above captioned instance and will be considered mordidaI do not and will not pay mordida to get my mailNever!
Separately, this business will let a customer go elsewhere rather than worry about $15.00? They have more customers than they need? If a fee is unjust it is an unjust fee! This speaks volumes I am willing to wager this lack of a "courtesy reminder" was intentional because the benefit is to the business, not the customer That gives a huge financial incentive to overlook a "courtesy reminder" that the business knows will entrap a large percentage of customers and make it look like neglect by the customerWhy not tell us why I received a courtesy reminder" each month for years but the month in question I did not receive a "courtesy
reminder"? Pray tell what part of your income is from late fees?

Review: This business is responsible for handling peoples mail and I would think they should have a higher standard than using predatory billing practices to help their bottom line. They charge 4 times the rate of US Postal and because many fixed income people use their service for vital mail to play predatory billing is not right. I have been with this business for over 5 years and have never missed a single bill. And for the last 12 months or more I received in my box [redacted] a renewal notice that warned against late fees if not paid by such and such a date.
They condition a customer to expect a notice for months on end and then blame to customer when they put a late fee charge in their box instead a warning note.
No one is fooling anyone with this con to help their bottom line by $15 in one month.
When I phoned to object to this wrong they had no answer for the deliberate con only by inference concluded the con works and is effective.
I think perhaps they should not handle Important documents like the US mail.
Thanks [redacted]Desired Settlement: I have always been willing to pay my bill but I am unwilling to pay a deliberate con that I do not believe for one minute was an accident! I want and need my mail not another business planning algorithms to induce predatory billing practices that are deliberately set up to cheat with impunity.
