Review: They cold called my dental office and spoke with my assistant about an offer for a free trial of gloves. They asked if she was the person responsible for ordering gloves which she is. They did not ask if she has authority to make purchases and authorize expenditures, which she does not.The offer was very confusing to her. They sent us a few boxes of gloves which we could use to see if we liked them. If so they would allow us to purchase more in the future at a reduced price. They did not say the gloves would cost us anything. We used the gloves but chose not to order. I then received a bill for $162.79. I called the company and was told it was an error and the gloves should be no cost. I received another bill the next month and ignored it, thinking it was sent in error again. I received a third bill in August and called again. The representative told me the offer was to use one box of gloves and if we liked them they would honor the price we are currently paying for our gloves (I do not know how they would know what we are currently using). If we did not like the gloves or want we could return the rest of the boxes at no cost. If we used them and ordered more we would get the reduced price. My assistant told me she never heard that or understood the offer that way. She was under the impression the gloves were a free trial. The representative then turned me over to a manager who was condescending, belligerent and unhelpful. He told me he would reduce the price of the "free trial offer" gloves to our current price only if I placed an order. I told him I didn't want to do business with a company that uses deceptive marketing practices and wanted them to honor the original offer which was the gloves they sent at no charge. He then talked nonstop over everything I tried to say. I hung up after a few minutes of this.

Their "customer service" representatives were rude, unhelpful and at one point the manager was, in my opinion, mocking me.Desired Settlement: 1. They stop using this type of cold calling, deceptive marketing. It preys on the willingness of dental staff to say "yes".

2. They adjust my balance to $0.00

3. They never contact my office in any way again (phone, fax, email, text, social media...)

The business has responded. Please read below.

As per our conversation, attached is a recap of the conversation with the Doctor in regards to his invoice of gloves: The Doctor’s office was contacted to take advantage of an offer to try a new glove on a risk free trial basis. The customer was asked if they are the one who is authorized to purchase the supplies for the office. After confirming she was advised of the offer and she accepted. Prior to the call ending it was sent over to another supervisor to confirm all the details just to make sure everything was understood. Three weeks after the gloves were shipped, a sales person, [redacted], contacted the office to follow-up and see how they liked the product. He left several messages and he never got a call back.

In regards to statements made in the Complaint; when the doctor called on August [redacted], he was transferred to me and I went over the details he stated. I did ask him when and with whom he spoke to that advised him “it was an error and the gloves should be no cost.” He said he didn’t recall the timing nor the person he spoke with; at that point I asked the doctor if we can find a resolution as I know how valuable his time is and didn’t want to upset him further. I offered 3 options: 1) Send the gloves back – we would pick them up for free and there would be any charge. To that he said they were already consumed and used. 2) I offered them at a discount. I offered to give him a 30% discount. To that he didn’t really comment. 3) I even offered to discount them entirely if he would give us an opportunity to service him with the current product he uses because we were 10% cheaper; a total of $162 value for free. To that he didn’t like what I had to say and hung up on me.

At this juncture, I am trying my best to offer the customer with viable options; that being said – I am still offering this options and will even increase the discount to 50% for all his troubles and even offer a $50 credit on any future purchases.

I hope the doctor will find one of these options fair and do the needful. We pride ourselves in our Revdex.com rating and the service we offer. I thank the Revdex.com for their time and the Doctor for his consideration.

Regards,

Consumer
