American Motel of Lenoir

Review: I recently reserved 2 rooms at the American Motel, Lenoir, NC for 1 night & one room for 2 nights Aug 29th. I have stayed at this motel a few years back when it was under different owners. Upon check in around 9 pm, I was to be in one room and my daughter, granddaughter and family friend in the other room. I went & turned the air on in rm 116 so the room would be cool when they arrived after dinner. We were in Lenoir for the Little Miss Pageant being held that weekend at at the [redacted]. When they arrived about 10 pm, the AC was not working, the desk clerk tried to reset it and could not get it working. He moved them to a room on the second floor. While getting ready for bed they discovered the room was infested with fleas. Our friend's legs and feet were covered and bitten numerous places. He then moved them to a room on the 1st floor, I believe room 106. By this time it was 12:30 am. This room had not been properly cleaned, but I had Lysol with me & we cleaned the bathroom ourselves as my granddaughter has to get to sleep since she was competing that morning.I was in my room sewing, I dropped the spool of thread and went to pick it up and grabbed a chicken bone instead. My bathroom was not clean. The pool that that show on their web site is in disrepair. Only about a 1' of water that looks like pond water, weeds growing up, nasty! I had to have my granddaughter at the center early, so my daughter stayed to pack up & check us out, we were not staying there for the 2nd night.The desk clerk was very rude & would not give us any credit for the horrible rooms. He did not charge me for the second night. Please understand that we did not have another place to go & my granddaughter had to get to bed to compete, so I could not drive to another town to find a room. The other hotel, Comfort Inn was booked.Saturday we did go to Hickory to stay. I went to the motel on Sunday & the clerk said he would have someone call me about a refund. I have disputed this with my credit card co.Desired Settlement: Refund to my credit card and should have bad ratings for this motel. I did not have room enough to describe everything that this motel had wrong. Pool is advertised on their web site in pristine condition. All I expected was a clean bed and bath with AC/Heat and a clean pool as it was when I stayed there before. I do have pictures of the pool, the chicken bone and the bite marks on my friends legs. I did put in a dispute with [redacted] for the room charges. Thank you for your help.[redacted]
