Complaint2012 Dodge [redacted] sold to me wrecked with issues that they wouldn't address took me over 3 months to get some answers a $1800 answer!!I bought a car from them October 10, 2014 while test driving I asked about the service light the sales person said oh that's not a big deal bring it in Monday and we will take a look at it so I called on Monday they said the mechanic is not in so after calling a 100 times he sends me to a mechanic he kelp the car all day just to say you have to bring it back so I called and called him he didn't take my phone calls so I call the car lot again he sent me to someone else they couldn't fix it the after calling the dealer a 1000 more times he sent me to another shop they couldn't fix it and fast forward to January 20, 2015 after what seems like a million phone calls he finally say well you can take it to the dealership I get it to the dealership just to find out the car has been wrecked and I quote "dangerous to drive" so anyway the price tag on that was almost $1800 so i'm thinking I know hes's gonna take care of that it has been 3 months that he's been stringing me alone but to my surprise he said well I will pay $585 that's not even half of the cost so I came to the conclusion that he knew something was wrong with the car and he strung me alone as long as he could and that's not even counting the money I was already out of pocket which was $250 for a key and $200 to have another part put on the heat and air i'm just asking for the major things to be taken care of ThanksDesired Settlement1800 just pay for the cost of the repair that's all i'm asking my time that was wasted being strung alone is non-refundableBusiness Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] ManagerContact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@americanmotorsofjackson.comThe customer stated that the check engine light was on when she purchased the vehicle so we gave her the number to the mechanic that originally inspected the vehicle, [redacted] and I told her to set up an appointment to have the car looked at that fit both their schedules. After numerous missed appointments from both parties I advised the customer to go to [redacted] and have it repaired. On 11.13.14 the customer took her car to [redacted] and they pulled an EVAP code which required a new Purge Valve and gas cap. The work was completed and several days later the customer said that the service engine light had come back on so I advised her to take the vehicle back to [redacted] and have them look at it again. When she finally got the car back to them it had the same EVAP code in the history so they cleared the code and told customer to drive it and see if it came back on. The light eventually came back on and when she took it back to [redacted] they advised me that it was a small emissions leak that was causing the light to come back on and needed a smoke machine to find the leak and they did not have one, but the car was safe to drive until she could get it to a shop that had a smoke machine. I called [redacted] and told them that the customer would be bringing her car their for them to look at it. After another week or so the customer took her car in and they found the exact same cause for the light to be on as [redacted] but they also did not have a smoke machine. I finally called the local Dodge dealership, [redacted] Automotive, and they said that it was a common problem and they did have a smoke machine, so I called the customer and told her to call [redacted] Automotive and schedule a time to have the car looked at. Several days later they called me and said that it was an EVAP Canister that had a small leak and replacing that part would fix the light. [redacted] Automotive did suggest some other recommended repairs, but said that it was nothing that was causing the check engine light to be on or that would affect the safety of the vehicle. I told the shop to repair the EVAP Canister to clear the check engine light, as this was what I agreed to do, and that any other service or repairs would be the customer's responsibility. The customer was not sold a "wrecked" car and it was not "dangerous to drive" at the time she took possession of the vehicle. We do our part to have the vehicles serviced and inspected before the sale to make sure that there is no major damage or safety concerns. I also feel that if there was "major damage" or the car was "dangerous to drive" that one, if not all, of the 3 previous shops would have noticed this and brought it to our attention. The original agreement was to have the check engine light looked at and fixed. These repairs have been completed and the dealership owes nothing else to the customer. Thank you for the understanding and please forward this to the customer so that they can contact me with any questions. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)It's really simple why I don't. First of all I purchased the car on October 10, 2014 and as of today Tuesday March 3, 2015 the car is still not fixed it has NEVER BEEN REPAIRED AND ALL PERIOD!!! Also I went to [redacted] twice once on A Thursday which the Mechanic reset the service engine light but the gas cap light was still on I worked that Fri. Sat. and Sun. by Sat. the check engine light was back on! Just like the mechanic and [redacted] told me it would be But I took it back that following Monday he told me it was the same code and it would have to go to the Dealership the same thing that [redacted] had said the first guy I took it to and speaking of him he looked at my car twice and did nothing to it either time and after two or three weeks of communicating with him he just stop answering my calls! And the third place I went was [redacted] Car Care and I went there the very same day I talked to the Dealer and yes it was a month or so later before the part that they thought it was came in so I took it back just to find out that it wasn't what they thought it was and for the third time I was told it had to go to the dealership by this time it is a New Year and I finally got it to [redacted] and I was told by them that the car had been wrecked and that's what caused the damage that was causing the light, plus the amount of damage consistent with the car going off the road. I have Smart Drive installed in my car so I know I haven't ran it off the road, If so we wouldn't be having this conversation and bottom line I figured the dealership knew this and that's why I got the run around about not sending it to the dealership! from the beginning but my point is that I am a few days shy of having this car for 6 months and yes the gas light as well as the service engine light is STILL ON!!! And I do have a phone record where I called the dealership 50 plus times and all the other places that I was sent to.Final Business Response Please advise the customer to set up an appointment with [redacted] Automotive to have the EVAP canister repaired on her vehicle. I spoke with them and they said that was the problem that was causing the light to come on and they were going to order the part and she would have to schedule an appointment when the part came in from Chrysler. I will gladly set the appointment for her, but it would be best if she took the time to call the dealership and schedule it herself as I do not know her work schedule.

I purchased a vehicle for 1500 which was a Buick lasabre 2003 and the motor went out within 2days.So I asked for my money back but the best they could do was trade me or I have to keep the vehicle. No title no registration, I'm out of money because they don't won't to fix or give my money backProduct_Or_Service: VehicleOrder_Number: N/AAccount_Number: [redacted]KXXXXXXXXXDesired SettlementI just won't my money back, I have lost my job as well as missed my obgyn appointments..... Business Response Before Ms. [redacted] purchased our car she drove it, and took it to let her people look at it. When she decided that she was indeed going to purchase the car we offered her an extended warranty that she denied. Ms. [redacted] also upon denying a warranty on a 12 yr old car, signed a waiver on service contract form, a AS IS no warranty form, and a AS_IS sold without warranty form, which where all explained to her at the signing. When she informed us that the car was tore up, we offered to trade her out of the car for another car on our lot, she did not like anything that we offered her. Ms. [redacted] originally paid $1626.46 for the she gave us $1454.95, which let an outstanding balance of $171.46, we gave her 30 days to pay the account out, upon paying out she would receive her title to go register her car, in the mean time she was given a 30 day drive-out tag. When she denied the trade option we forgave the balance of $171.46 to help her out.
