My experience has been horrible!
My experience has been horrible! I was not given necessary brackets to build this building a total of18 brackets of two different applications. I was told oh they are in back order after I started to build this building. So then I was told well overnight the brackets. Ok so they were picked up 12/30 it’s now 1/3 and still no brackets. As I move along on the project as far as I can I notice there are parts of the building not even on the blue prints. I call and I’m given a a solution to use parts I never received. Then I ask for an explanation of a dotted line not labeled on the blue prints and the engineer says, I don’t know what that line is. WTH kind of engineer sights off on blue prints and doesn’t know what’s what ? Did he even draw them? Also was told I could unload this building by hand as the lady seller says she has done before. Was told just check off the box stating you have a machine to unload but you don’t have to have one. So the day the building is to be shipped I get a call from the steel shipper saying you have a machine right to unload? If you don’t it won’t be shipped. So I gob rent a machine at a rate of 200$ for two hours. I rent this for the time frame drivers dispatch says he’ll arrive. Four hours after another 400$ the driver showed up. Now I have a half built building no parts to finish it and on top of 15k for an incomplete building without parts to finish and plans that do not work and an extra 600$ for a machine I didn’t need I was told. I still await any type apologies, parts, and or reimbursement for the added expense and inconvenience of this entire experience. They knew they hadn’t the brackets but yet didn’t even attempt to let me know or at them on their way until I started building and realized I didn’t have them. All this from a company who needed every bit of 15k before shipping this building.

We always suggest that the customer contact our company if there are any questions. Our nearest factory ran out of the brackets, so instead of waiting another week, we instructed a further location to send them by UPS 2-day shipping (one day shipping was not available), but the customer assumed overnight shipping, and he received the brackets the next day. This building is rather small, so it is quite easy to unload by hand in the 2-hour window, but shippers routinely ask about forklifts, so sometimes customers go ahead and get one without calling us first to clarify what is really needed. We always, always ask customers to contact us with anything that comes up. The customer was given the explanation of the dotted line on the prints which did NOT represent a missing part. Our engineers draw all the blueprints which are always custom, so of course they know what every line represents. The customer is now very happy with the building, and needs to update this review.

NEVER order from these people
Review: I purchased this building after being told it was home owner friendly and very easy to assemble without heavy equipment. that is not true. I had to hire a contractor to finish the job and I am an army mechanic. but that really is the least of the problems. once the contractor had the building up and it was time to install the sectional doors we found out the door springs were not shipped. when I contacted American outback building ([redacted]) they said it had been too long to do anything since I waited a year to start my building. I said ok, I can understand that so I contacted the door manufacturer and was told the same thing. regardless of weather they would replace them obviously they were not shipped but I was told I miss placed them and told to order new ones at $500. I said ok fine and ordered them and paid for them. then the door installer came to install them and the door openings were wrong. fro a 16 foot wide by 13 foot tall door apparently the opening must be exactly that and the blue prints called for a 16 foot 4 inch by 13 foot opening. needless to say my contractor was beyond pissed off. I contacted [redacted] at American outback buildings and she confirmed it was a "misprint" on their part. so my contractor charger me for another day of work for 6 men to fix the "misprint". then the door installer came back to finish the sectional door and all was good until he started on the second door and found that the shipment included 3 left bottom brackets and 1 right bottom bracket and one wrong length cable and 1 missing pulley. at this point I was furious, knowing they would say it was my fault and was miss placed, I did not even want to deal with American outback buildings or clopay doors again so I forked over another $1000 to be done with this. all in all I will NEVER order a steel building or door again from these people. it was so expensive and misrepresented and I was made to feel inferior, saying I misplaced all these items. I was to say the least very pissed off. [redacted] was very pleasant but this was so grossly misrepresented I have a very bad taste in my mouth about ever putting up any building ever again.Desired Settlement: surprise me. make me feel good about this transaction

I would like to be reimbursed for the additional time required to fix the blueprint error, one day of labor for 6 men ($1000) the cost of the missing door springs and hardware ($564) and the cost to have a garage door installer come out to install the door later because of the spring and hardware delay ($550) I tried using the form on the website but I was unable to enter any text in the required field. We stand by our claim that our buildings can be erected without a problem with the parts all cut and labeled at the factory, but a customer should contact us BEFORE their contractor cut some parts into pieces. The contractor clearly did not follow our engineering or detailed instructions, and did not contact us at the time they were questioning the door opening. What can we say about door springs being missing from a delivery that was made years earlier. They replaced the springs on their own and then sent us photos of the finished building which they were finally happy with.
