I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The business' response does nothing to resolve the issue. I know there was no mention of a fee for inspecting the property to provide an estimate. If I knew of the fee I would not have requested the estimate. As a building contractor I routinely provide estimates at no cost. My auto mechanic calls and confirms his estimate before beginning work. There was no reason for me to know of the fee for the estimate. Please assist us in resolving this issue.

This customer called our office and spoke to our customer service representative about our wildlifeinspections and what they entailed. She explained the inspection process and informed the customerthat the cost would be $199.00. He agreed to this and the job went into scheduling for August 17th. Ourtechnician went to the job site that day and spent 1 hour and 11 minutes inspecting the building.Several days later the customer called and said he was refusing to pay the $199.00 because he was nottold beforehand of that cost. The same person he originally talked to explained that she did indeed tellhim the cost as it was written down in her notes as is company policy. This policy is in place to avoidthese types of problems. The customer disagreed with her and asked that the owner call him.The owner then called him back immediately and explained that in 25 years of business this companyhas never done free inspections and anyone could call at any time and would be told the cost of aninspection. In an effort to resolve the situation the owner said we would apply the $199.00 to the bateviction along with a 3 year guarantee. The customer declined the offer. We tried to remedy the situation but the customer had buyer's remorse when he found a cheaperavenue and now refuses to pay the charge. We are sorry this customer misunderstood but we have thousands of customers each year that havebuilt our company based on our reputable service, honesty and dedication to our customers.

Review: During a phone conversation American Pest Solutions offered to bid the wildlife inspection job. I asked if there was a cost and no dollar amount was stated. They never stated the bid would cost money. The customer service person went directly to scheduling the inspection for bid. When the bid came in via email a $199 inspection fee was billed.

I contacted their customer service personnel. She said she told me the cost at the time of scheduling, which is false. I asked to speak to the owner. He called back and told me I was told the cost, which is false. He offered to waive the $199 if I accepted the service contract which was 75% more than their competitor's bid (which was done for free). I did not feel comfortable doing business with this company after how they handled the initial bid, so I went with their competitor.Desired Settlement: Eliminate the charge for the Wildlife Inspection.
