Customer just moved in to a commercial place and says that system had work for a week.  Customer attempted to change thermostat with a [redacted] thermostat and did not know how to complete task, unit was not coming on at all.  Technician [redacted] explained that the new thermostat...

was set up as a regular furnace and not a heat pump, [redacted] wired the thermostat right and we up to check the unit to make sure customer did not short any other parts such as a transformer, he check the filter(s) and visually checked the complete unit.  The unit came on and they both confirmed that there was warm air coming out of registers.  [redacted] charged accordingly, $112.50 to wire a [redacted] thermostat is a very reasonable deal.  [redacted] also explained that the heat pump does not have electric heat strips and that the unit does go on AC mode every so often.  [redacted] also informed the customer that the return needed to be cleaned/vacuumed to improve air flow (see invoice). After we heard from the customer that the unit had a problem, we offered an appointment and suggested to check with owner to see if there was any move in warranty on the system (not the thermostat). We spoke to owner and offered to troubleshoot the unit for $89.00 and gave her an appointment the next day.  Owner called later and said that customer was able to find someone that could come out earlier, we understand.
We stand by our work, we guaranteed our work and if they any problem with the [redacted] thermostat installation we will refund the $112.50. We did not work on the system itself and therefore we are not responsible for anything else (see invoice).
In my opinion there was no need to contact the Revdex.com for a situation like this.  I believe that customer should have waited to get a diagnosis from other company and if we were at fault, he should have contacted us to provide proof of it.
Note: Technician has not turned in the invoice yet, he emailed me the copy but I was able to attach it.  I will forward it from my cell phone.  Thanks for your assistance and please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Attn: C[redacted]Date: 10/13/2015 The following is a letter in response to complaint ID # [redacted]We were called out to property [redacted] by tenants ([redacted] and others) to repair the Air Conditioning system in the house. They claimed that the AC wasn't...

working and that needed AC quick because they had an older person staying in the house. We went there on 8/4/14 for the first time and we found out that the house had no air conditioning (only heating). This is a big, opened single story house that requires multiple AC systems. They requested an AC installation quote for part of the house and said that they wanted it installed right away and that they would pay with credit card. They had us installed 3 different system and we got paid by credit card. I don't know how they were able to get a hold of the owner's credit card or what kind of relationship they had prior to suing each other at the time they left the house. She states that we come in without her consent. We added 3 AC to existing heating systems (there is at least one more heater without AC). When tenants were out of the house (almost a year later) the owner (Carla [redacted]) said that they used her credit card number to pay for things and that she did not know.We have been there a few times (not more than six times) for different reasons, from not knowing how to read instructions on thermostat manual, dirty filters, replacement of thermostats to leak in the ceiling because tenants left the AC on set at 65 degrees for days when they left the house (also took all installation paperwork with them according to owner). I spoke with Mrs. [redacted] on July 28th 2015 and she said that new tenant was complaining that the AC was not working and I told her that we would go there as soon as possible and she said she wanted to be there. Upon arrival the new tenant had no idea that part of the house had no AC, so he was running the indoor blower non-stop. I found one system (kitchen area) that had AC and was not running because the condensation line was clogged. I told her that we would take care of it. I ordered parts and we installed them on 7/31/15. I did the job under warranty, we did not charge anything. I told her that I would pay for her to get a second opinion on my work if she was not totally satisfied. We have standard 1 year labor warranties, but I told her that I would honor her request.Up to this point we have not heard back from Mrs. [redacted]. I was not aware that she had placed a complaint against our company until today 10/13/15. Apparently I had received emails about it from the Revdex.com but I did not notice them. Sincerely,[redacted] [email protected]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The statements are incorrect provided by [redacted] at American Heat and Air.American acknowledges the system was done improperly. They state in this rebuttal that to do the system correctly they needed to replace the furnace/ coil for the system.I think the most important point here is I never ordered air put in my house. American did this without my permission. I never paid for this system so how was I suppose to put a furnace in the first place, and why would they  do the job improperly to begin with. The tenants were not upset with me...I was upset because the tenants put a half done improperly installed air units in my home without permission. When I first walked into the house after 3/31/15 I saw a huge stain in my ceiling. After investigation American had not installed this air correctly( this is the furnace they said needs to have a new furnace) and put a pan under the unit to collect a run off water-this didn't correct the problem! I ran air for 10 days in July/15 and the system would not work. American did get the system fixed after 6 days of calling them.I laughed at the statement," the house was to big". The house was here first. It's the company that didn't put adequate air in for the house.I have no idea what American is referring to: that I didn't put air in with the heating units. Again I never order this system. It is inadequate for the house and cost me $1000 more than my regular bill for 10 days of use, because the system is inadequate.I want a proper furnace put in over the dining room and fix the guest house unit which was put in incorrectly horizontally, instead of how it was made for use which is vertically. The door of the guest air unit falls open and shuts off the heating system as of now. Also air needs to be installed on the other heating unit so the house has coverage as American stated to have correct coverage. All these items would have to be done if I choose to sue American. I did not order air. American trespassed and did work on my home inadequately. They are aware of the problems they created but won't correct the air to function for the house. American made a huge mistake in taking a order on a house without consent of the owner, damaging the house and putting an inadequate air system.Carla D.
