Review: On or about August 13, 2014, the water line in my front yard broke. We have a warranty with [redacted] ([redacted]) where once informed, they'll contact a plumbing contractor who contacts us to fix the problem. The company [redacted] selected was American Plumbing. When I spoke with the plumber from American Plumbing, he told me that [redacted] required that I obtain a letter of verification from [redacted] Water Authority (**WA) that the line had a break in it before he could begin to fix the break. I informed the plumber that the house was under contract for sale with a settlement date of Sept 2, 2014. I contacted **WA who informed me that there was verification of a break in the water line done by their employee who performed the emergency water shut off. However, I was informed that due to the requirement for a letter stating there was a break in the waterline, I'd have to schedule a time for a [redacted]WA employee to come to the house and that I, or someone from my family, needed to meet the **WA employee and take receipt of the letter. Four hours of leave from work was used to wait at the property to accommodate this activity. Upon receipt, of the letter of verification from **WA, I contacted [redacted], informed them I had a formal letter of verification from **WA and could they contact the plumber & have him proceed with the work? The [redacted] representative stated that [redacted] has never had a policy or requirement that a letter of verification from a water authority is needed before their contracted plumbers could begin work. The plumber offered no explanation regarding the "requirement" from [redacted] which [redacted] does not have. The work was rescheduled to be done 2- 3 times and the company kept putting off doing the work. We had to contact [redacted] and request another company do the work.Desired Settlement: Monetary reimbursement of four hours of leave lost to meet a **WA employee to obtain a letter of verification which the plumber stated was a requirement by [redacted] but was not and has not been a requirement.

A letter of apology and explanation explaining how and why an American Plumbing employee would make a false statement regarding requirements from [redacted] which are not true and cost time.
