This company was sent to my home to replace my water heater per my home warranty company. American Plbg determined an additional cost of $365 was required to modify the water/gas piping. They said they required payment only in cash up front prior to service (would not accept any other form). When I asked why I could not pay with credit card, the woman in the office (Chris) got very defensive, was very rude and said she didn't have to explain herself to me and refused to provide service otherwise. They replaced my water heater on 5/8/19. On 6/3/19 the water piping they installed broke loose and leaked steadily all over my floor causing damage to the floor and insulation in my crawl space and created a large pool of standing water in there as well. I immediately called American Plbg to come out to address the issue and stop the leak. The woman in the office (Chris) was very short with me and said they would not be able to come out for 3 days, despite the active leak from the pipes they replaced. I contacted home warranty, who sent out a different contractor to come and stop the leak same day. The new company repaired the water line and noted that American Plbg improperly installed the fittings, used low grade materials, and did not install the tank to code (no drain pan even though I do not have a floor drain). I called American Plbg back to ask them why they did not install a drain pain and if they had pulled a permit for the install. My call was initially blocked several times. I called again later from a different phone number and Chris answered. As soon as I stated my name, she said she did not have time to talk to me and hung up the phone. I called back several times and was sent to voicemail and on a few occasions was picked up and immediately placed on a silent hold with nobody picking up
This company overcharged me for the original install, required cash only payment in advance, and is not responding to me now that their repair failed and caused damage to my home
Do not use this company.
I will be getting bacdk to you also we are obtaining some info and once we have all the info together we will lay everything out for you and let you know what our decision will be hopefully within the next 24-48 hours

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 13595708, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:
The leak and damages American Plumbing caused in my home occurred on June 3rd. I notified them on June 3rd. It is now June 12th. It has been 9 days and no action has been taken on their part. My issue is time sensitive in nature due to the damages they caused. It is apparent that this is not an important issue to them and I will now be forced to take other actions for resolution.

The home warranty sent them to my home. They came and wrote down parts to be replaced.they took apart my toilet to check in detail. Then they left. They falsly reported the service completed to the warranty company, and when I called the office, they said I'm lying and hung up the phone on me.
