I had representative come out and give me a quote for a short term non profit business The representative wanted the entire payment the DAY BEFORE the work was done Seemed very unprofessional and suspicious to me

I have been a customer of Stop Alarms for more than 15 years. The company installed the alarm in my new house and has provided monitoring services during the years. This year, In May, 2015, I changed my telephone service provider and realized that the alarm signal was no longer being received by the monitoring service. A few days later, I called Stop Alarms and was informed that my alarm will need to be updated for an additional charge that was unreasonable so I cancelled my services. After a few hours, a representative call me back with an offer that I accepted and scheduled the repair appointment. I was forced to cancel due to a family emergency and failed to call back to reschedule. Now, in August, I received a bill from Stop Alarms for 6 months monitoring service. I called and talked to a manager, Gayle L[redacted], who insisted that I never cancelled and became irate when I denied the claim. Although while she read the conversation I had with the representative on my first call which included my request to cancel the services, she insisted that I did not cancel. I'm not sure what has occurred with a company that was once reputable and customer friendly.
