Helvetica, Arial, 'Lucida Grande', sans-serif;">Since 1999, I have been in the business of helping people on Medicare secure Medicare Supplemental health insurance coverage.  The complainant, who is turning 65 and becomes eligible for Medicare in March 2015, had mailed me a post card requesting information on the various Medicare programs available during his "open enrollment period".  The complainant had handwritten his Name, Phone Number, and Date of Birth on the post card.  I still have the postcard if proof is needed.
I maintain phone records of each call I make to clients.  These are the contact dates and conversation substance:
1) When I called the complainant by phone on November 10, 2014, I said I was responding to his postcard and identified myself as an Insurance Broker for Medicare Supplemental Health Coverage.  He said he currently used the Veterans Administration for his health care, he was busy and told me to "try back" in January of 2015.
2) As requested, I called again by phone on January 27, 2015. The complainant said he was out of town, didn't want to use up his cell phone minutes, and told me to call back in 2 weeks to see if he was back home and had the time to talk about his Medicare benefits.
3) Two weeks later, on February 10, 2015, I called again.  In this conversation it became obvious the complainant had very limited knowledge of Medicare's health coverage.  The complainant told me he could not afford the $110.90 monthly premium for a Medicare Supplement.  I then went on to explain other options he could consider, in particular, a Medicare Advantage Plan which offers health coverage and had a "zero" premium.  He told me he was not interested in any further health insurance coverage and would continue using the Veterans Administration.  After this conversation, the complainant was removed from my data base and no further contact would be made.
When people call my office or mail in postcards (as the complainant did) requesting information, I am glad to help them.  I give them all the information I can over the phone and also offer to meet with them in person for more detailed explanation. As a salesperson (and at my age of 64) I always interact with prospective clients in a professional and very courteous manner.  The accusations of this complainant are completely false and erroneous!
