American Residential Services L.L.C. Reviews (2)

I entered into a maintenance service contract with Will Fix It. They came in during the fall to check on the heater-this was a good service. In February, A plumber came to check on the water heater- which resulted in the whole house not having any hot water for the next 48 hours. The supervisor eventually came and fixed the problem that their worker created since there was no problem to begin with. Today- I waited for an AC person to show up to check on the AC units- it has been three hours and nobody has shown up. I have called their office several times today and I finally cancelled my service contract-they will reimburse me $49 per unit and I have 3 units. I think I should also be reimbursed for the "botched" plumbing check in february which resulted into a major inconvenience for my family as we had no hot water for 48 hours on 2 cold winter days.

ARS insatlled waterheater in area that cut off access to furnace filter & main plumbing to the home.
ARS was contracted by home warranty company AHS to replace waterheater. Upgrades were required including drip pan, expansion tank, and larger flue pipe. ARS first came to home on 3/26/14 to provide estimate [redacted] R.). Charges were over-priced ($150 for drip pan, $315 for expansion tank) so I told them I would price first before scheduling. The warranty company would not call another contractor for the job, stated my only option if I did not want ARS was to take payout of $325. Payout would not cover new water heater, so I scheduled work with ARS on 3/28/14. Plumber was schedule for 3/31/14 at 5pm.

ARS called on 3/31/14 at 9am stating plumber could be at my house in 45 min. I left work to meet plumber. When I got home, ARS called back and stated plumber could not come, he would arrive at 3pm. Plumber no show at 3pm. I called ARS at 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm to find out when plumber was coming. I was told that someone would call me back. No one called, a plumber [redacted] showed up at 7 pm. The plumber stated he did not have water heater, he would clear his schedule for 4/1/14 and be at my home for 1st appt of the day. Plumber called on 4/1/14 at 9am and stated he was enroute. Noon came and no show so I called ARS. They stated they would call me back to let me know when the plumber was coming. 3 pm no plumber, I called back and was told same thing. No one called or showed. Plumber arrived at 5 pm looked at utility closet (3rd time ARS seen utility closet) and stated he could not do work because of his size and small work space. Another plumber would return on 4/2 to replace water heater. This day was the 2nd day I took off work to meet plumber to replace water heater. I could not take off work on 4/2 so I asked a relative to stay at my home to let plumber in. Plumber installed water heater and upgrades while I was at work.

I came home to find the water heater placed side by side with the furnace, less than 3 inches of space between them, cutting off access to furnace filter access which is on back side of the furnace, and all main water plumbing that enters the home. In addition, an overflow pipe on the water line that enter the water heater was disconnected from the drain pipe in the floor. It was suspended in mid air, but still connected to water pipe. I called ARS to tell them to come out and move the water heater in the same position as the old water heater and reconnect the overflow pipe. I was told a monager would call me in the morning the following day 4/3. No one called from ARS the morning of 4/3 so I called ARS. Finally I spoke with [redacted] who stated he was the Plumbing supervisor. [redacted] told me he would sent the plumbing tech out [redacted] today to move the water heater at no charge. At 3:30pm still no plumber so I called ARS. ARS told me they would have the tech call me. Tech call me back shortly and stated that he was instructed not to come out until BC County inspection. I called ARS to speak with management, left messages with [redacted] & [redacted] but no one returned my calls. I called and left messages with [redacted] on 3 occasions to get inspection date and permit number but received no return call. On 4/4 [redacted] called ne agreed to come out to my home to look at water heater on 4/7. [redacted] came out and stated that the after the inspection ARS would come out and move water heater and remove pan at no charge. Inspec was scheduled for 4/9. I talked to customer care rep [redacted] on 4/9 at 11 am and explained the issues I was having with ARS. [redacted] also stated that ARS would come and move water heater at no charge. I had to call the County to get the inspecitno time. BC inspector stated ARS had to correct the overflow pipe that was not connected to drain but gave work an approved inspection. ARS was schedule to move waterheater and remove pan at no charge on 4/18 in the morning. On 4/18 ARS did not show, I called them and they stated they would not move the water heater at no cost, I had to pay.
