the member to come in one of our branches and sign to close the
account, If it's easier for the member she can also send us a letter via fax or U.SPostal service requesting the account be closed, We do apologize if you have called and tried to close your mother's
checking but your signature is required to close the checkingOnce we close the checking account you will no longer have access to use the Visa debit card for purchasesThe card can still be used for AIM transactions

I accept the response and I will bring in a copy of this letter when I go in to close out my mother's checking accountI have been in the bank in Merrillville on several different ocassions asking to close out the accountI hope I will not have any issues

After looking into this I see on December 2, 2015, the member was charged two $30 Non-Sufficient Fund (NSF) fees for two PayPal transactions. The Credit Union is able to refund one of these $30 fees as a courtesy to our member but if...
a transaction tries to come out again and the funds re not available there will be a $30 NSF fee. The $30 NSF fee is shown in both the Electronic Fund Transfers Agreement and Disclosure under 4b and in the Truth-in-Savings Disclosure under the fee Schedule. Both of these documents are attached. In the member’s folder is the New Account Questionnaire the member signed when the account was opened that she received the attached documents.
The member said transitions have not been able to clear her account the past and she was not charged fees but I looked in the members’ account history from the beginning of August and do not see any transactions where the funds weren’t available and the member was not charged a fee.

I got my 1 fee back that I asked for and I understand thier response but don't think they understand that the same thing has happened in the past (not necessarily between August and now as they claim) and I was never charged a fee as they indicate I should be charged. But I am overall satisfied with the final decision. Thank you.
